This. Rate of fire is everything when spamming vehicles. Since a shell will usually find its way in somewhere.
yea, only if they spend just a little more money and put the electric motor from the ADATS into other IFV (like bradley) so they have the same high fire rate then it would have been pretty good, but nah, we are stuck with a pretty depressing fire rate sadly
In War thunder, Russian autocannons are often superior because they rely on saturation over precision. The intense spall generation lets you blind and shred an enemy tank instantly without needing to aim for exact weak spots
It probably makes sense not to do that irl. It’s just that in game that relates to bushmasters being quite bad. The french VBCI with a 25mm is way better than a 30mm bushmaster purely because the rate of fire feels like an autocanon and not like a bushmaster semi-auto

yea irl it’s just impractical for the 30mm bushmaster to shoot that fast, it would burn thru the ammo supply, become less accurate, and shorten the service life of the gun itself. It’s just that War Thunder game environment made it bad on so many levels (90% of the map are CQC cluster fuck so the Bushmaster’s accuracy just doesn’t matter, and the slow fire rate effect the Bradley negatively more than it does positive, and it’s forced to fight MBT head-on)
would like to again put my point out that the accuracy is still way lower than it should be, so even then accuracy doesn’t help all that much when at 1.5 km the rounds could miss completely to the side when aiming center mass. also pretty sure the ADATS gun uses a different belt drive system to feed rounds, it’s not just the speed at which the motor spins.
yea im not 100% sure either of how it’s different, but a quick google search tells me that it has a much more powerful motor, so it feeds the round into the gun faster, which increase the fire rate
Unfortunately, the thread I created regarding IFVs with 20/30mm cannons wasn’t accepted as a proposal, even though it didn’t violate any forum rules. I didn’t receive an explanation, not once, but twice, nor did I get a response from the moderators I reached out to. I’ve given up; this forum is pretty much useless. It’s a shame, I actually had some hope for it but it looks like we’ll all just keep playing with the same three tanks in this game.
