Why are NATO 30mm specifically 30mm bushmaster so weak compared to Russian 30mm autocannons?

This video is a perfect example of how the bushmaster and other similar autocannons perform in War Thunder. These autocannons, in my opinion, are quite weak and unreliable at times, especially when compared to Russian or Chinese autocannons. NATO 30 mm guns struggle to defeat cannons even if you have APFSDS.

My personal experience with Eastern autocannons, however, is quite the opposite. They are much better at obliterating any cannon they fire at. I also think the Bushmaster is quite inaccurate at range in-game, despite its low fire rate.

So what do you guys think? Is NATO 30mm too weak, or is it just a skill issue on my part?

Not even shooting at a lightly armored vehicle…

NATO 30mm feels a lot weaker because their firerate is abismal dogshit. The issue in your clip is mainly just that you were not even hiting the cannon for like 80% of your shots

because its a video game thar favours higer rates of fire over being a gun that was made to a level of quality of a post 1940s country

the 2a42 is a crap gun in the real world. WT doesnt reflect its issues properly.

the penetration calculator also lowballs the hell out of a lot of guns, 30mm bushmaster is one of the worst victims of that

I tried to take his machine gun because it can destroy the bushmaster. And if you look near the end of the clip, you can see how many shots his gun ate. That’s at least my main issue with the clip

I tried getting his gun and machine guns…

Which APHE/AP will deal more damage to.
Either way, American APFSDS is not less powerful than any other APFSDS.
NATO 30mm guns are as powerful as any other 30mm.
& there are 30mm rounds in NATO more powerful than Soviet’s 30mm APFSDS rounds.

But APFSDS isn’t going to take out barrels faster than AP rounds.
APDS might also deal more damage to minor components than APFSDS rounds.
300 grams of projectile is a bit more than 170 grams.

There are 30mm APDS rounds that are close to 300 grams [at minimum Warrior’s].
Newer APDS seems to be closer to 190mm.

That’s the sacrifice you make by having more pen in this case.

this

30 mm Bushmaster II Mk 44 shared the same dispersion values with the 30 mm 2A42 in the past before Gaijin increased 30 mm 2A42 and 30 mm 2A70 dispersion. Not play the victim, “NATO 30 mm is too weak”; 30 mm autocannons are too weak overall, specially regarding the damage to the caliber; a 25 mm autocannon will perform way better because it has the highest firerate, and 35 mm because of sheer penetration value.

Which would be the dispersion, that’s has been increased in the past few months?

Thanks for this info! I’ll definitely try this out
