Why are NATO 30mm specifically 30mm bushmaster so weak compared to Russian 30mm autocannons?

thats odd i find the german vehicle having worse performance in accuracy, maybe its due to shell velocity or something else, or fast firing cannon simply brute forces through its poor accuracy

That’s your own bias on the play.

try both vehicles and you’ll see ahah

Ha do you think that i haven’t played 30 mm bushmasters? Nice joke buddy.

Some recent examples

Maybe try this place next time?

They usually face their armour towards you, and since I have bad aim, I find it easier to just disarm them before going for the kill, lol

You are shooting straight into a tank. In an AWV. It’s primarily its fire rate. But also, generally, rn a lot of Allied stuff is somehow worse than Russian stuff. This is nothing new.

the bushmaster is still way less accurate in game than it should be, considering the bushmaster’s whole thing is accuracy and reliability, hence the slow fire rate and it being a chain gun.

It could be, i am not denying that, i am just saying that they are more accurate in game than soviet autocanons.
How much is questionable as even if “it’s hole thing is accuracy and reliably” the gun will still have dispersion no matter if it shoot at 200rpm or at 1 rpm, seen report for the round, the dispersion should be between 0.01 to 0.03 degres lower which sure it would have better dispersion but the change isnt a dramatic one like when the russian 30mm went up by 0.12°.

Yeah, you don’t know what you’re doing

Made this for a different bushmaster complainer you just have to know what you’re doing like every tank in this game.

Bro, few players out here are as skilled and accurate as you. And I see well-respected creators such as Spookston complaining about the 30mm Bushmaster as well.

What I’m trying to say is that they feel quite weak with spalling or shooting at barrels at such a slow fire rate, for example.

And yes, every tank is good if you play them right, even a panzer 4 can win against most 8.0 vehicles if you play it right. It’s just not that easy for most players, lol

The low damage caused by small caliber APFDS fragments is also one of the reasons for the poor performance of NATO 30mm, because in the past, small caliber APFDS caused good damage, which was then modified by gaijin. Now, the fragment damage caused by small caliber APDS is significantly better than APFDS. This is not simply due to the mass of the projectile being greater than APFDS. The fragment damage caused by 30mmAPDS may be the same as or even better than that caused by 40mmAPFDS fragments, even if the mass of the former is less than 40mmAPFDS. Of course, this cannot be said to be better than 40mmAPFDS fragments. gaijin has weakened the fragment damage caused by small caliber APFDS too much, and they should improve the damage caused by small caliber APFDS fragments

Ignoring skill, when it comes to accuracy this is always crucial for any player regardless of vehicle so if skill is accuracy then you need better skill according to your OP. Bushmaster benefits more from it due to having better accuracy at it’s lower firerate.

You don’t need to black a barrel you can simply put it in yellow as firing from that will result in an instant broken barrel and low chance of anything hitting you (Unless they shot ATGMs). The 30 mm bushmaster is perfect flanker from a distance staying in a good map position even up close. Head on from a slopped vertical angle you can see them most times before they see you just spray anywhere near the breach and it’s donzo after a couple of shots Russian tanks don’t have good depression so bait them and when they push you push back. You should always prioritize the hull or rear of the tanks turret as getting a couple of shots in will result in an instant death before they can even react. The only issue I see from your engagement is you didn’t push to the side or retreat from a bad situation. The incoming tank could be disengaged easily in CQC since you expose their driver in tight spaces.

That was the original question in your OP, it is skill issue.

You’re making some good points, and I appreciate the advice. But I’ve had experiences where the spall is ridiculously bad. And people can still shoot APFSDS with yellow or red barrels.
But yes, I was in a bad position and situation in the clip I used. My main issue with the clip wasn’t the skill issue or the situation I were in, it was the fact that his barrel just ate several shots without getting destroyed.
I’ve almost gotten nukes with the bushmaster several times before, its not bad, but in my opinion it should at least get a spall or fire rate buff.

This is a skill issue. youre dumping rounds into the thickest part of the tank, and expecting to win? the russian 30mm wouldnt do anything either.

The dispersion on Russian 30mm are higher than the bushmaster. I personally don’t think the dispersion on the btr-3E1 is accurate tho.

I don’t question your skill, it’s clear to see. There are very few of us who play as IFV crews, so we need to support one another, keep it up! But, with all due respect, could you choose videos that are a bit less ambiguous when you post them? Let me explain what I mean:

1-In the second video, only the last two kills made with the CRV are shown, while the final screen indicates that you have already died once. It’s possible that the previous 9 kills were achieved using a different tank. Furthermore, the match is practically over, with only 5 or 6 enemies remaining, flanking them on that map is easy. Finally, at that range, it is simple to penetrate the side of a tank that lacks Relikt or ERA (Explosive Reactive Armor) plating.

2-In the first video (great play, by the way), you’re using the Type 24 ICV, the only IFV at 9.7 with penetration and mobility specs comparable to those of 10.7/11.3-tier vehicles. It’s a bit of an edge case, as it allows you to face opponents that are significantly weaker. Furthermore, it’s equipped with third-generation thermals, spall liners, hull-stored reserve ammo, proximity-fuzed rounds, a laser warning system, and a combination of penetration, rate of fire, and reverse speed that rivals 10.7/11.3-tier vehicles. If it had Spike missiles, it would be a 10.7 (though it’s probably better that it doesn’t, they’re too inconsistent); if it had an APS, it would be an 11.3. But the cannon remains the same. It’s worth noting, however, that facing a T-72 B3A versus a T-80B with that same cannon is a very different experience. An Eitan, for instance, lacks both spall liners and hull-stored reserve ammo, and its reverse speed is only half as fast.

Unfortunately, at those tiers, one of the most frustrating things is that reactive armor can withstand more than one hit (sometimes three) before breaking. As far as I’m aware, in reality, such armor can typically only withstand a single hit and often ends up damaging the adjacent armor tiles as well.

This is a video of one of my matches from start to finish, using an IFV, the Hunter, which ends with me getting a nuke. As you’ll see, if the Spike hadn’t managed to secure the kill, or if the opponent at C had been more alert, I definitely wouldn’t have achieved that score. Not to mention that this map is one of the few that actually allows for some maneuvering. I’ll start a thread to look for ideas on how to improve these IFVs without touching their penetration or armor. Let’s hope for the best.

Unless the actual purpose of these vehicles make it’s way into WT, they’ll never measure up to MBTs and high caliber guns light tanks against other MBTs. No amount of tweaking can change that.
Mobility improvements would be the best they could get yet only marginally useful in the face of the abhorrent maps we play on.

Never noticed that. Times i play, the AP 30mm of 2a72 cant damage the barrel, but as soon as its APDS it eats it alive.

Same story with bushmasters: when i use the APDS Bradley`s cannon i cant damage the barrel with several quickshots, but the APFSDS bradley eats my barrel in one shot
