Why are Marks of Distinction no longer discounted?

Gaijin, why are we no longer given discounts on purchasing Marks of Distinction when reaching certain milestones? Whatever happened to this?

Please consider bringing it back before the end of the Winter Tales event.

If my memory serves, wasn’t this only a thing in the events which weren’t Summer / Winter? (I.e the smaller ones that replaced the crafting events)

You would be correct. These multi-vehicle events will not have it.

If I remember correctly (and do correct me if I’m wrong), we haven’t had a Summer/Winter event since the smaller ones started and the discounted MoD system was added later still. I assumed it would carry over to the bigger events; I see no reason for it not to, anyway.

Formats aren’t the same tho tbf, like in the IAR event we just had, you needed every single MoD to unlock the vehicle, and the upgrade coupon to make it tradeable was earned completely separately through score.

In Summer / Winter, you only need 8/10 MoD’s to get the vehicle, so there is leeway built into it from the get go, and missing an MoD or two ain’t as brutal. Also maybe snail doesn’t wanted to sell discounted MoD’s here when it’s 10/10 of those which allow you to sell it on Market. Probably trying to maximize the GE they get for the GJN they give.

You’d have to remove the tradable coupon for GE like with the new system.

I suppose that makes sense in a way, thanks for bringing it to light for me. It just seems a slightly arbitrary way to do it.

On a bit of a tangential note, I’m not a great fan of the whole ‘grind twice as much so you can sell it’ thing. I enjoyed the older task-based events where the coupons were marketplace-ready by default. But having one vehicle to grind at a time is nice, so I’ll take the good with the bad.
