Yeah, that I dont mind too much, Id basically just island peek in it. But I couldnt test what the mortars are like as they are a mod which you dont get because you havent bought it (I wish all test drives were spaded)
Those could be fun?
Though the other point for Le Orla is the possibility of subs in the future?
Yeah, in some respects they treat coastal as they should, as the early BRs of naval as a whole. and then in others, like GE cost for those premiums and the RP/SL costs of the ships on the tree, as if it was top tier. Its really wierd.
some days i wish they would merge the trees back together if that lowered the cost of the top tier of coastal now i have the top tier of blue water. but if they do the thing where you can unlock helis in ground but for navel where you can unlock coastal with blue water or it goes either way
That is what I want more than anything, I dont mind the trees being seperate, it makes it way easier than having to deal with direct lines of ships, that way we could have 4 rows for coastal but keep 3 for bluewater or vice versa.
But just being able to grind the coastal tree with bluewater would be huge, even with a notably RP tax. I have all bluewater researched, so just being able to dump those RPs into coastal would be such a QoL improvement
Just looking at what is on offer for other nations and damn, it really is random the GE costs
US:
1x 6K GE
Germany:
M-802
BR 4.0/Rank IV
3.8k GE
USSR:
MBK pc.186
BR3.3/Rank IV
3.8k GE
+2 at 4.0/4.3 respectively at 6K GE
Britain:
Both at 6K GE
Japan:
Akebono
BR3.3/Rank IV
3k GE
PG. 02
BR3.3/Rank IV
3.8k GE
Italy:
Folaga
BR3.7/Rank IV
3.8K GE
Sparviero:
BR3.7/Rank IV
3.8K GE
Why some are 3K, some 3.8K and most are 6K seems really unfair and its not even like ship class has any major impact. They really need to lower the cost for all of them down to 3.8K I think, at a minimum
Not really britain but all of the so called coastal trees mmm yes the frigates with bows made for rough open ocean, Propulsion for long range deployments & cannons meant for fighting similar size ships, totally a coastal vessel… If we went by the devs concepts then the HMS London 69 is a coastal ship for fighting along the Yangtze River with aiding HMS Amethyst F116. (sorry for the rant about these poxy tree names).
But you can kindly thank the split TT’s for these GE costs & tbh it’s kinda funny & sad that these vessels cost a mint yet often fight superior premium ships that cost 1/6 the cost in GE from the other branch.
If the trees had remained they same ways they did the frigates & smaller would cost as much as the JDS Akebono DE-201 while things like the USS Frank Knox DD-742 would cost as much as the Project 41 Neustrashimy at 7100 GE or lower (if it was a small destroyer it would cost as much as the Type 1939 Folttontorpedoboot T31 used to cost, which was like 4800 GE iirc).
Think most of the Frigates being oceanic spawn and in the coastal tree if purely for balance reasons. If they were put in as the reserves of the ship line then they would be facing 1.0 coastal vessels… or they would require their own line starting at a higher BR which would just increase the grind even more.
No I wasn’t referring to spawns, I’m more referring to how stupid the naming conventions of the trees are when they keep sticking ocean going warships into it.
We’ve already seen what a DE can do in a small craft spawn & it ain’t pretty same with an SKR, but both received large craft spawns in 2019.
Uuugh I hate this rubbish new forum on mobile, Trying to a the second reply to this without just tagging the other player.
TBH you’re correct, when playing frigates & smaller ship types some of the most dangerous enemies are in fact the Type 1924 torpedoboot & Modified Admiralty V class Destroyer as both are probably the most potent reserve 3.7 you’ll fight often (also the Bourrasque class torpilleur yet I don’t see it as often).
It’s utter ridiculous imho an man the payout is crap since you sinking a Rank I doesn’t pay as much as sinking a Rank V & all the ammunition & repair costs of the Cost’all TT add up.
