Oh, thanks for the clarification. I am now siding even more to ‘why we need to give Abrams M829A3 exclusively’ (I mean, disagreeing about exclusive solution when we can’t give others equivalent)
About this part, it seems plausible.
but I don’t think it will be possible if we think about Gaijin removed explosive filler from British M61 APCBC for QF 75mm Mk.V in the name of tech tree uniqueness when those guns are capable of firing, and used US M61 APCBC with filler… Gaijin probably wouldn’t add M829A3 to other NATO tanks which are capable of firing.
It would be deployed in order to forestall the necessary actioning of fixes, similar to the move of the M68A1 & M256 to 12RPM. Because there is a growing pile of reports that are significant in relation to armor, and asorted survivability issues.
So, Gaijin will probably give M829A3 exclusive because of nothing but
1- Biasing the USA in some way with those exclusive measures
2- And let all of us get railed between the Soviets and Americans
3- Because other fixes which community really wants are harder to implement than just adding new ammo.
That would fix the leopard for nations which use that gun. China would be excluded, Britain (excluding the challenger 3 td which is so nerfed I didn’t even have it my lineup when I still played > 10.0)
It does nothing for nations which don’t utilise those guns.
The solution has to be fair and equitable for everyone, and actually fixing the era so it obeys the laws of physics is the way to achieve that.
It would also benefit vehicles which aren’t high enough to have the new dart, but are in a full uptier.
Each tree should have some sort of unique selling point, no?
it was firepower the Ariete’s, for a while after all.
Well, there are two ways to look at this;
It should be expected to some degree since they have the most viable options by far, and so having significant access to somewhat more flexible lineups (and novel options) at a given BR shouldn’t be surprising or unwarranted, should some turn out to be of variable effectiveness. Since they can be selected to respond to a given situation more often and subsequently more optimally deployed, but for every T-58, and F-5C there is the M42 and PB4Y-2 it’s just that the latter don’t often get much attention.
And well, isn’t it better to have two nations that have clear advantages than just one, since they can occasionally end up on opposite sides of the matchmaker, also with their breadth of options; propagation & cross-pollination of other trees does frequently occur to help mitigate and unique advantages that they have.
Should it be determined for a balancing pass to “avoid” needing to decrease the BR of the Abrams across the board, can you say it isn’t worth it? But, I am personally of the option that they should all go back to 8/10RPM(120/105) once the fixes are deployed since it will make them somewhat harder to kill, and return some survivability in totality.
You can see it with the change to the Falcon, too. There was a much greater intensification of get it the Radar, after the AP belt was removed in order to justify the BR changes.
Not really, if we look at the ratio of Unique offerings to C&P, it tells a fairly drastic story of limited effort on Gaijin’s part to actually provide a Tech-Tree unique options, and that cuts both ways.
The problem is that I don’t really think getting more granular will fix things since it gives Gaijin too much leeway to make things worse, just look at the TOW 2B for example.
Tbh, I don’t really see how they could implement the era worse than they already have. Perhaps it would give better kinetic protection at higher angles, but that would balanced by much less kinetic protection at lower angles.
I suspect that era fixes are scheduled for 12 to 18 months, when they finally decide they’ve extracted enough cash from the bmpt and they start to apply fixes to it.
Whatever the solution is, it has to be one which all nations benefit from, and a new dart for some nations only on the highest tier tanks isnt the way to go
Gaijin think uniqueness is not a selling point, but think of it as a magic card for ‘intentionally nerfing something to make them artificially inferior to others’
For example
JAS39(SAAF)'s AIM-120-less when AIM-120 was total meta and Darter/Derby were ass.
British QF 75mm’s intended cherryficking nerf for 75mm M61 APCBC.
With a bit of a joke, I think it feels Gaijin only wants to sell Soviets and Americans, and there are only 2 nations exists in this game, and there are 8 disqualified subtrees which shouldn’t be taken care of by them. /s
Maaaybe having two bastards is better than having a single bastard.
For Example, Game which F-14A totally dominated is a lot worse than the F-16A and MiG-29 stabbing each other. :|
The Problem is, Gaijin usually end up forgetting other nations.
They buffed the BR of F-86 and MiG-15/17 series because [they can’t fight against supersonic jets]
While there are other domestic jets, such as Swift, Venom, Mystere are also seeing those supersonic jets
They also buffed the F-15A because of the Su-30MK problems. While other jets in 12.3-13.0 also see the same Su-30MK. (I mean, those are generally bad since they accelerate compression further, but if they decided to recompress things, they should’ve been consistent.)
They are always solving things with Rob Peter to pay Paul.
They always solve things as
If the Soviets have an OP thing, Gaijin gives US counterparts exclusively
If the US has an OP thing, Gaijin gives Eastern counterparts exclusively.
unless it is easily copy-pasteable.
So, no. I don’t think giving M829A3 to US 120mm tanks can be a proper solution to solve the BMPT problem.
And I think if Gaijin ever give M829A3 to the US, then it is really added for nothing but raising cain in the forum, between US main and others.
An easy solution to ignore other fixes and reports which are submitted.
If we assume for a moment that no shell will be able to pen soviet era because “balance/Marketing lie” and just look at in-game pen figures. How does it compare?
To be honest an ERA rework would have to come before rounds like M829A3 do. As it stands right now all ERA is is just add-on armor that can be destroyed. IIRC Gaijin stated that an ERA remodel would be hard to do with the game’s engine due to calculations that would need to be computed in real time on the server. All new rounds would do is just have more penetration, and if M829A3 can supposedly defeat Relikt at a considerable distance, it would just lol-pen everything.
To be honest, I would rather have the Trophy system for the SEP v2 than the M829A3. Or even more so, the SEP v3 with Gen 3 thermals, Trophy, and better armor. That would be so nice (i don’t think the sep v2 is bad)
I mean, would it not be nice if Gaijin actually added more modern tanks to all nations in the next update? Who actually wants useless Boxers? I understand some people like them but they are so bad and take up space in the tech tree
And by the way, what was said in both these posts that got them taken down?
