Why add bmpt but still no m829a3 for U.S. 120 mm tanks to help combat new vehicle?

Because the M1A1HC (click bait) was first introduced in 1990, the M829A2 was introduced in 1994 so it most likely had them used on the M1A1HC and M1A2 platform.
The M829A2 is an old round compared to something like the 3BM60 which entered service 20 years later in 2016.

The M1A2SEP and SEPv2 were 2000+ so they more than likely should have the M829A3 if it’s keeping historically accurate.

AFAIK the M1A1HC should be able to use the M829A3 without problems unless there’s barrel breech geometry changes or barrel composition/hardness changes to deal with different pressures.

Loadout has always been a balancing matter and not one of total historical accuracy. Its more subtle for tanks but its why for example the AESA Typhoons (2026+ aircraft) dont currently have IRIS-T/ASRAAM and Meteor missiles and instead are using 1990s IR missiles and early 2000s AMRAAMs

In this case, being somehow only 12.0, the A1 shell would still be OP given the reload rate at this BR, but no where near as rediculous as the A2 shell. Quite frankly. Its hard to understand why the M1A1 HC, Clickbait, M1A2 and SEP arent at least 12.3, if not more appropriately placed at 12.7

Very little on the Abrams is historical accuracy other than the shape. I’m aware.

As is the case for nearly all top tier MBTs. Still waiting to get our 20 round ready rack on the CR2, instead of the current 4 rounds

I think the clickbait prems should use the M829A1. I get the push for historical accuracy but if we want to maintain clear differences between premiums and tech tree vehicles, the M1A2s should be the only ones with the M829A2 at the moment.

The clickbait premiums are inspired off of a 2003 iraq war M1A1 HC
Yes they should have the M829A2 round. Given the time period that tank may have even had a few M829A3’s in it.

But the problem here is “all abrams are same” and that’s a gaijin problem. Using removing M829A2 as a crutch nerf for changing up gameplay at top tier for USA is weak design.

It is not a question of whether or not the Clickbait and co can use A2. its a question of should they in regard to balance and/or BR

For example, Challenger 3TD should have DM63 as it is the only shell that demonstrator fired. The Leopard 2A7V should have DM73, etc etc. But they are limited because loadouts are used for balanced.

Though giving the Clickbait A3 and moving it to 13.0 would be quite funny

It would be super funny. But I really don’t care about giving A3 to the clickbait.

To the SEP and SEPv2 or just the SEPv2 I am fine with the possibility of them receiving it. Limiting it to those chassis would be more “realistic”

Never mind on the clickbait having A3 at that time. Even wikipedia says it was still in trials then.

If we were balancing I’d say allow the SEP to have 1 or 2 shots of it max. Chalk it up to “limited quantities during rollout” or something.
Let the SEPv2 have more shots as that’s a later production vehicle.

I think it would simply be better to leave the SEPv2 with A2, Add the SEPv3 with A3 shells alongside vehicles like the Challenger 3(P4) and Leopard 2A8 with DM73, etc etc at 13.3 and go from there.

(13.3 so that some of the strongest 12.7s can move up to 13.0)

Though still think the M1A1 HC and Clickbait and the M1A2 are under BRed big time

Do you mean the AIM instead of the SEPv1, given that the latter is already 12.7.

However I’m not making any assumptions.

Uh yeah, the clickbait’s can pretty much do everything the M1A2’s can. They function almost identically, with the same armor layout, mobility, and firepower. They should’ve left the M829A1 on the premium versions instead of giving them the top tier round like I said before, but here we are lol. I understand the historical argument for keeping the M829A2 for the clickbait’s, but there still needs to be a clear distinction between tech tree vehicles and premiums. If a premium gets everything that a tech tree version has, what’s the point of grinding when you can just buy something that performs exactly the same or better?

I can make the exact same argument for Russia. Most of their strongest T-80 variants are sitting as premiums and then you’ve got things like the 2S38, BMP-2M, and BMPT, so people just skip the grind and jump straight into top tier with premiums instead. It’s just a huge mess at this point. There’s honestly no incentive to grind when you have premiums that are the same as tech tree vehicles or premiums that outperform them.

Are people also going to ignore the fact too that 3bm60 didn’t enter full production until 2016 meanwhile m829a2 entered full production in 1994 meanwhile m829a3 entered full production in 2003 so why does Russia get a more modern round while a lot of nations lack behind its not like we’re asking for m829a4 to be added more nations should get their more modern ammunition to keep equipment around the same era as each other plus the t90m entered service in 2020 amongst that too the leopard 2a7v entered service in 2019 there’s just an imbalance of equipment for every nation a lot of platforms have just been left behind

Why should anyone care when M829A2 is still the superior ammo.

Doesn’t matter when it’s facing armor it wouldn’t have really faced, at top tier I think all nations should have their more current ammunition at top tier

No
You don’t

If anyone thinks the M1 has no armour now imagine facing DM73/83/SHARD.

It’s very frustrating to say, but Gaijin don’t care about service rounds. Just look at the British and all the tanks with fake L23, instead of the correct L23A1 they should have.

You’re acting like you can’t pen them back too, nato tanks are literally gun carriers meant to penetrate armor and support infantry forces

M829A2/3/DM73/SHARD etc. are not needed for this

also coughs* what about object 292’s apfsds?

what about it?
