I think anyone who does anything online that already plays this game has seen ads for War Thunder at some point. I see them all the time, mostly on YouTube videos as ads or sponsorships. What I’m wondering is, who are these ads targeted to? Who, who sees these ads, hasn’t already heard of War Thunder and either already plays it or decided not to? I don’t see how anyone who would be interested in playing a historical vehicle combat game wouldn’t already have heard of War Thunder.
Surely there must be a target for this since these sponsorships and advertisements aren’t free. Is there some untapped source of new players out there, could the average player numbers ingame climb even higher than they already are?
You’ve probably heard of Coca-Cola yet they spend well over a billion dollars a year in advertising.
They’re targeting basically everyone they can. Plenty of people start playing War Thunder just because they think it looks neat, or it’s a F2P game and they’re bored so they figure “why not”? Gaijin wants War Thunder to be in as many people’s heads as possible, so when they get bored and want to play something new, they’ll remember War Thunder exists and hopefully start playing + buying.

In response to the title, I would say anyone who has never searched or played war thunder probably doesn’t know it exists. The adds are aimed at you. Reminding you to play war thunder.
I think its more of a cookies thing. If you played or looked up warthunder, you are going to see adds in common sites you visit. Probably games by gaijin or similar.
I see plenty of WT adds on the laptop I use to play it. I do not see them on my console or PC that that never had WT on it.
