Which UK air line for ground battles

I think so, or at least it doesn’t matter as Glock is your pilot, you probably aren’t doing hard pulls in a heavy bomber most of the time

really depends. I always take a dedicated fighter and then a strike/bomber at low tier but it gets funky later on

theres some really bad deadzones around midtier and the first really usable ones are flat out worse than options at lower BRs in other nations.

heres my lineups from 6.7-12.7 as my reccomendations.

6.7 the mk24 spit is a monster if you use it right. the bombs are about as much use as a soft potato but RP3 can occasionally work. 20mm hitsparko can really carve up ground targets and you will dominate the dogfights in the air

7.7 ww2 jet with bomb that kinda works, still worse than american options and another one as backup for cleaning out enemy CAS

8.0
same fighter but better and the canberra as its a bomber than can dogfight and make CAS mains rethink life after being killed by a bomber in a dogfight

8.3 replace the canberra with guns for the one with two 4000lb bombs

8.7 Red top and bullpups. you are king same for 9.0

9.3 hunter for cas/cap lightning for nuke denial

10.0 SRAAM with a couple bombs is decent

10.7 THIS IS THE FIRST GOOD ONE hawk is a rat and the bucc is great when theres no SPAA. even tho america gets an a10 at 10.3 with double the maverics as your hawk, and that number of the IR ones at 10.7, totally fair and balanced guys

11.7 Harrier T10 my beloved. PGM 500s are great, working towards them

12.7 dont even bother lmfao

Thank you for this awesome guide i really appreciate it.

no worries, all the lower BRs involve a spitfire and the mosquito bomber for aircraft so didnt think of adding it

Oh another thing about spitfires. is it just for me but they are preety paperish like i just get destroyed by bullets, theres not a single time where i get hit and survive

It used to make a lot of sence to have both fighter and strike aircraft/bomber in lineup, since you didn’t get SP increase for another class after death.

they can do. russian bullets do a godly amount of damage and the .50 cal incendiary rounds are a nuclear bomb most the time.

youre more fragile than most but you can kill them a lot easier than they kill you.

I get that, i still take them for their dedicated roles tho. Sometimes CAS is being spammed and you need a dedicated fighter to cleanse the skies quickly and effectively, especially as the UK doesnt have a good SPAA from 3.0 until 8.3

sometimes the skies are clean and i can just lob cookies at anyone i so please. its also more valuable when in a squad as you can do more directed strikes due to callouts from your friends

also about the turn speed how does it work if the amount is smaller they turn faster or is it the opposite

the statcards arent really accurate. if its a merlin powered spitfire, you are almost garanteed to have the tighter turn unless its some japanese aircraft.

if its a later griffon one you will turn on par at worst but have the engine to win on energy/speed retention

because one play has worse stats and is rated higher for some reason

which one do you mean?

Spitfire mk IIB and Spitfire mk VB

im so happy of my choice switching to uk instead of ussr the ground is fun but the planes are much more better for me

the mkV has a better engine over the mk2, an extra 200hp which is quite something.

i find myself leaning more towards a mosquite NF mk2 for 3.7 as its got better guns while still holding up good in a turnfight.

glad to hear it. a lot of people hate on the tree sadly, lot of it is either because its britain or because early ground can be painful.

Love the planes. always have and always will

is it better to have more smaller bombs or like less bombs but bigger ones

personal preference. Ive found that its usually a mixture of volume of ordinance and how big each individual piece is

Take for example the mk24 spitfire.

It can carry RP3 and triplex rockets as well as GP & MC 250-500lb bombs.

I could take all three MC 500 lb bombs as they have the most explosives but i dont.

I take one MC 500lb and two MC 250lb bombs with ten RP3 rockets. I may have less chance of outright killing a tank with the smaller bombs but ill still damage them and get an assist a fair amount of the time, I then have rockets to overpressure open top vehicles or to fire a salvo at a normal tank in the hopes of getting a lucky kill.

you may find that another combination works better for you though. its down to how you play more than anything

Would highly recommend the Typhoons/Tempests for CAS at their BRs, 1000lb bombs for hitting and 20mm Hispanos (except for the first Typhoon) for killing AA and open top vehicles, and ngl they turn better than nearly all other attacker aircraft at their BRs.

For WWII ranks:

Air to air: Spitfires, no doubt. They can also carry smaller bombs or RP-3 rockets so you can do some damage to ground vehicles and then deal with enemy aircraft…

Air to ground: The premium Typhoon works amazing. Besides bombs/rockets, it’s still a very capable fighter and the 20mm cannons are pretty good, too. Almost everything except heavy tanks can be eliminated from top down attacks. Another aircraft would be the premium F6F Hellcat.
Mosquitos are decent CAS, especially with the Uncle Tom rockets, but cannot really survive when there’s enemy aicraft around…
Also the squadron Mosquito with the 4000lb bomb is a babe… :)

Honourable mention: The cannon Tempest. Surprisingly effective against tanks while maintaining very decent maneuverability, so it can deal with enemy attackers/bombers, too…

For WW2 ranks, I second your recommendation of the premium F6F-5. The Wyvern is of course also great. Three individually dropping 1000lb teabags.

Unfortunately in terms of sheer tankbusting potential, tech tree vehicles do not come close between these two until you reach jets with ample air to ground ordinance selections. The Sea Brick may get four Triplex RPs, but good luck aiming them and not lawn-darting with how FUBAR its flight model is. Likewise about Mosquitoes with Uncle Tom rockets. A Typhoon or Tempest with two 1000lb teabags is always decent, but not exceptional, because they drop in unison.
