Fairly sure it does. At least providing they’ve not been used by spikes or other atgms first
Personally the worst singular tank is the ariete as its just made of glass HOWEVER I personally think the worst top tier tanks in 1 tech tree goes to russia as you can guarantee a 1 shot from any angle everytime. Front, sides, back, corners, guaranteed 1 shot kill every single time. Other tanks yes there are 1 shot kills spots its not a 100% guarantee and kts not from every angle. Also Russia’s terrible reverse speed and depression.
Playing the tanks for what they are actually made for, i think they Leopards/Strv’s and Challengers may be the best tanks. Abrahms is meh.
Meanwhile. Every soviet tank I fight is a fairly consistent 2 shot kill and they 1 shot me every single time
Who tf in the right mind vote Leopard 2A7 T-90M and T-80BVM lol
plus, Italian main probably don’t care about Ariete anymore.
Unironic skill issue, only time it ever takes multiple hits to take out a Soviet MBT is if I’m doing a disabling shot first. But those aren’t intended to kill anyway.
Random Reddit user: Gaijin loves Russian and Chinese tanks, they hate all NATO things!
Besides, random Tieba user: Gaijin loves Russian and Sweden, they hate China like all Slavics!
Though I’m a air main and know less about ground, VT4A1 is really a bad thing, even compare to Ariete— worst reload time, 577mm pen, not so-better armor, worse mobility. Maybe APS is it’s only advantage?
But for these who loves modern vehicles they need more time to spent to get what they want. This is called sunk cost. And for China TT it becomes even worse cause most of their domestic vehicles is at least cold war vehicles.
The number of times I’ve hit the ammo rack in a soviet tank for it to just turn and fire is insane
For me, it’s much less than my dart going corner to corner, or front to back or side shot through the crew compartment… and Leo’s just laugh, turn and shoot me.
Like, itll hit everything on its way through and kill nothing. All modules hit, all modules red or less, except engine which is always knocked out.
Meanwhile, you sneeze on the internals of an Abrams or T series and the entire tank is locked up internally.
Thankfully Germany got the best aircraft so they can dominate land, and air now as well.
I love WT.
T series are pretty easy to kill, it’s just the seemingly more frequently happening autoloader eating multiple rounds and to not blow the ammo up, and darts getting eaten whole on side pens.
Lower plate 101% 1 shot kill. Drivers hatch/port. Centre side 101% 1 shot kill, front/back corners if at an angle and obviously the back.
And that sounds exactly the same for 90% of top tier MBTs. Except most don’t have unpennable ERA covering most of the tank or a tiny profile
Not really. Its a 101% 1 shot kill cause u hit the ammo every single time. Other MBTs dont do that. You end up hitting the engine and take out 2 or 3 of the 4 crew where as russia has 3 crew and you can take out 2-3 in the 1 shot.
I’ve hit a soviet tank ammo rack too many times and just gotten a “hit”
And hitting an ammo rack is a 100% guaranteed kills for pretty much everyone
The ahistorical and disproportionate implementation of spall liners has had disastrous consequences for top tier ground for more than 2 years now.
Despite multiple accepted bug reports, such as those concerning all Chinese 3rd generation MBTs (almost every Chinese top tier tank, basically), no progress has been made on them.
2 most popular outcomes: “Not a bug” or “Submitted as suggestion”. These are both War Thunder classics.
Errrrr not if you have blowout panels like most western tanks its not. Yes the challenger doesnt have them but thats because its has complicated internals which arent modelled properly in game. Its hull down, sniping and ridging only which is why the ammo is in the hull which would not be hit when the tank is used in its correct way. But! There is no proper sniping/hull down spots anymore simply because every tank would be doing this and the maps arent big enough.
And all the shells are stored in the turret anyway and you have 0 armour between the turret cheeks
No body has armour between the turret cheeks because the barrel is there although, the C2 does have an armoured mantlet as again shown in forum posts here and noted by Gaijin. Although it doesn’t have a massive breach like the abrahms, its a little bit bigger than the Leopard for example but again, realistically at extremely long distance, and with the less accurate smooth bore guns other nations use, the chance of hitting the breach its pretty small.
The main shells are stored in the turret cause they are non explosive and the loader doesnt have to strain his back lifting them off the floor/hull. It becomes tiring after a while so having them down below will tire the loader out quicker having to constantly bend down and lift them up.
Yup.
If we give out spall liners to tanks. Then darts need to start shattering so tanks like Abrams who were built to shatter rounds don’t take a ricochet into the turret ring.
Those nations like US, RU and I think Israel and China also us DU should have these effects modeled and would level the playing field because a successful pen on a spall lined tank with a tungsten dart = less spall. The DU dart would add effects that could kill crew in those instances where you yellow and red them but don’t kill because of secondary DU effects.
But no, we just had Leo’s and Strv’s the only advantage at top tier no one else gets. In addition to the essentially frontally immune tanks compared to everyone else as well.
What do you mean less accurate smoothbore guns? If I’m not mistaken, the rifles barrel was kept for the HESH round, and that aspect alone, to make it more accurate.
Smoothbore is the most accurate gun for a dart. Now this is being debated because for years this was true, but I remember seeing some science that it may not be as true as once thought.
However, that was one study. The common opinion is rifling is bad for apfds, the smooth bore is more accurate than a rifled barrel. The more the dart spins, the less accurate it is(is the most common opinion).
Modern vehicles are cool and all, but if you’re not playing China for BRs like 9.0, you’re doing it wrong. Boring modern MBT vs glorious AFT09/PLT02/PTZ-89? Give me the latter. But as I said, they will keep adding to China top-tier and it will all work out eventually. Will be 6 years this year that they added China to the game, they’ve made some progress, mostly in the last couple of years. Worse trees out there.
