Why didn’t we get the FT-17 during the WW1 event? Do yall plan to add it to the French Tech Tree or maybe as a Premium? I think it would’ve been perfect to add it during the WW1 event. Would’ve made more sense than the Garford.

it would have made the triple entente better if we had got a renault Ft17 instead of the st chamond. that event was so unfairly one sided

I think we should’ve gotten all 4 of these vehicles. We’re also missing the WW1 Planes and Zeppelin.

I hope they’ll bring them back in the TT as vehicles that you have to unlock a vehicle in rank 2 to play.

it would be functionally useless, while the SA18 cannon does exist in game (Old french reserves), it would not have the same performance Anti-Armour,
the SA18 of the FT-17 would only have standard AP shot, that would have around 21-25mm of penetration, which is far less that a .50 cal, while not being fully automatic
It would not get access to the APCR of the current SA18 in game as that shell with from 1937, and its use on the FT17 would be anachronistic (considering they would mean to be “WW1 fit” FTs, France did use the FT all the way into WW2, and would likely be compatible with Mle1937 APCR
It would be functionally useless in game, slower/as fast as the Mark V, easier to kill due to only 2 crew, and an even worse cannon,
you can roughly estimate how it’d be in game with the T-60 (for FT WW1 fit anyway)
…but only drive backwards, and limit your rate of fire from full auto, to once every 3s or so, and use the API-T belt
even then, it has more armour, better cannon, at the cost of some top speed
there isn’t a hope for it coming to game now, its missed its chance, miles too bad to come normally, the old french reserves were removed for being terrible, and they actually have half-decent armour, and mobility, FT17 would have nothing going for it, even the stupid 13.2mm AA would perform better

I’m fine with that. Just make it like those other French vehicles where you have to get a Rank 2 vehicle to unlock it so it doesn’t really get in the way of the grind. It’ll be a vehicle for people who like to suffer can play, like me :) and for people who wanna do WW1 events, like me as well!
