Where is Indian or South African OSA?

Yeah, if we had it, I would try to make a lineup work with the Vijayanta, vickers Mk1, T90 and this thing xD

also perhaps a sea harrier proxying as a frs.51

It’s OSA-AK btw, although German should also be AK afaik.

9.3 sam additions certainly wouldn’t go a miss, that whole BR bracket either needs to up tier gun spaa or uptier your ground vehicles to have a SAM system.

Yep, that is why im using AF AKM

Why is a spaa in the indian air force?

Dont ask me, but that does happen.

Because airbases tend to be targets of enemy planes I assume, and its far safer to have mobile SAM systems over dedicated launch points which can be scouted prior. (also i assume helps protect helicopter bases which you could be using in the field)

RAF Regiment used Scimitars and Scorpions for base defence IIRC. Air Forces like to use things they think are useful, it actually being useful could be a completely different answer.

The Osa-AK was upgraded in Indian service to the AKM-standard with Russia’s help if I remember correctly, that’s why I stated AKM.

The image I posted though I agree, it’s an AK.

Strange, I thought IFF antenna was presented on all AKM variants. Though maybe some AK were upgraded to AKM standards, but without that antenna 🤔

Yes, IFF antenne was added in the AKM, but some AKM did not had it, and the antenne is associated with the original IFF. If they are using their own one, it might not be needed. If it has IFF antenne on it, it is 100% AKM, but if it does not have it, it is not as clear. And AK-AKM had more upgrades than only IFF. Citing a russian guy i talked with about it, AKM added ability to engage low flying targets.

Ding ding ding ding ding, WE HAVE A WINNER!

Still waiting for the first tech tree addition from India to be added to the UK tree, everything so far has been event/premium/squadron, this would make a fine first tech tree addition.

Yeah, I know there is more than just IFF, I also have few documents in Russian about that SAM. So it’s basically impossible to tell from photos of OSA-AK if it received upgrade to AKM standards or not (unless it’s written on the vehicle XD).

No. There is one way. A button on the main console that changes missile behavior. Other than that, no.

Hello @Smin1080p_WT, sorry for the ping, but can you comment on this topic? Will one of the OSAs be added, or are they not considered at all?

Clarification. We never fielded the OSA in South Africa. Though we sure as hell captured a few from the Angola conflict. Same with the T34, T54, T55 and T62. Along with a bunch of other scrap like BRDMs and what not.

Hey. The SA one appears to be a captured unit.

We don’t rule out the possibility of an Indian one in the future perhaps, we have some other plans for British units.

Neat to see, though still puzzling that so many get it and gaijin miss out a pretty obvious ez addition to expand options (the Indian 1 ofc).

Cant wait to see what those other plans are/hope to see the OSA/other Indian stuff in the future.

Oh well, thats kind of sad. It would be a easy addition that would be in line with what is getting added right now. Cant wait for all the “Britain is treated unfairly by Gaijin” when it gets added updates later.
