I crawled around the model to find the hidden ALE-40 on the plane to find the 3rd module, but somehow it just doesn’t exist? I can see the dual ALE-40 setup on the vert stab, but the other one that provide the other 30CM?
Am I dreaming here?

No idea. Thai F-5As never even mounted any countermeasures, so it’s really weird that they get more in game that don’t even exist.
so instead of adding F-5A and F-5E SCU they should just go with F-5 SCU and Super Tigris instead. that or swap SCU with STU.
It’s just a bug with the aircraft.
The F-5A of course existed and the manufacturer inherently made countermeasures compatible with all F-5s regardless if airforces bought countermeasures or not.
Yeah, I’m guessing is that it’s a mistake and they confused the additional ALE-40 that Thai Alpha Jets, F-5E/Fs and F-16A/B OCU have.
Since there’s no images (that I know of) of the F-5s additional countermeasures they maybe confused it for F-5A.
Yeah, especially for countermeasures I’d say its fair to have the same ALE-40 kit as other F-5A/Cs. Giving it more that never existed on any F-5A is a mistake though
gaijin pulled another whoopsie
The flares are drop-in compatible, just air forces at the time didn’t see a need for them so they saved the $$$$$ by just not purchasing the system when ordering the aircraft.
War Thunder players and vehicles shouldn’t be punished for the poor decisions of IRL militaries.
If the manufacturer made it compatible with standardized flares/chaff they should be available on the aircraft, and so far all aircraft are in War Thunder.
Then why doesnt the Harrier Gr1 get Flares when a mounting system was developed for the Harrier Gr1 (which then became the Harrier Gr3) or the external CM pods that the AV-8A and AV-8S carry?
Yes, those are 30 countermeasures each (15 for large ones) in two ALE-40 dispensers for a total of 60. This is seen on every F-5A/C in game.
The only problem is the Thai F-5A in game has 30 large countermeasures in addition to that. They aren’t on any other F-5A and don’t show up on the 3D model.
So I believe those are a mistake, with Gaijin confusing the additional ALE-40 that some other Thai aircraft can use.
Proof that the GR1 is drop-in compatible would be needed to provide that proof.
Remember, the only reason all F-5As are capable of having flares was because Northrop explicitly set aside wiring routing for that system in all their F-5s.
In this case Hawker Siddeley had to have made their oldest Harrier drop-in capable like they did for their later Harriers: GR3 and AV-8A.
A refit by the manufacturer is something different than inherent drop-in capability, and at this time I have no opinion on refits.
someone mention wanna talk about the thai alpha jet mausser cannon while we are at it xD
pretty similar and even more obvious
