Yup.
Im sure relikt being newer has nothing to do with its development being glacial because of the collapse of the ussr.
You even realized that they go to 12.0 (which is also where all those Germany and US players are) so you should factor that into your previous paragraph. 12.0 alone has more than 6 times the games 11.3 has and 12.0+12.3 have about 3 times as many games as 11.3 and 11.0 together with a lower percentage of games played by russia. Not to mention that most of the 11.0-11.7 russian stuff performs way worse than the competition there so trying to chalk it up to ODL is grasping at straws especially considering that the Al Khalid, Type 90 Fuji, Challenger 2 OES, Centauro and ZTZ96B all have higher spawn to game ratios than the BMPT.
Which is utter nonsense, relikt needs to be angled.
Malachit, probably kaktus on the black eagle. The reason relikt is came in service later is because russia was in no situation to develop much anything in the late 90s and early 2000s. The russian federation is the same age as m829a1.
… only one nation has usable anti air, that nation also has the strongest cas by far.
They definitely go to 12.0 often, but ignoring a huge hole right under 11.7 is not the best of ideas.
From what I’ve seen, their spawns/game ratio is pretty similar.
Khalid has ~1.23 spawns/game.
BMPT and BMPT-72 have ~1.21 and ~1.27 respectively.
Fuji has ~1.31.
When USSR runs out of BMPTs they can still spawn 80U and 80UK, which is something they frequently do.
TT Type 90s don’t even come close to numbers that Fuji put out.
Three TT Challengers combined don’t have 50% of the OES’ games played.
Considering minor nations’ premiums have way more games played than their TT equivalents tells me there’s a very big ODL problem in those tiers. I’m pretty used to seeing people complain about 70% of their team being Fuji ODLs, but I guess not everyone picked up on that.
So Relikt protecting angled is nonsense to you… because it needs to be angled…
Dude…
Relikt kinetic protection when flat was already dubious before the buff. It needs to angling to effect kinetic shells by virtue of its design.
54mm isn’t “dubious”, & it’s not being buffed when flat.
It’s not being buffed at all.
Side ERA is only being marginally fixed on angled shots, which your post claimed is nonsense while claiming that’s exactly how it should be.
The wizard known as Kontactus the XIV is the one who comes up with all the ERA calculations for gaijin and he hasnt been wrong yet. Any claims stating otherwise is NATO cope.
So how much metal do you actually think is in a ERA tile?
I don’t. I just know that it’s going to be higher than non-flier plate ERA when shot flat.
& 54mm isn’t implausible.
It’s not even enough to stop HSTVL’s round with the 80mm of RHA & 11mm of HHA.
Let alone stuff at-BR.
How much protection do the composite side blocks on the cr2 tes or leo 2 pso provide?.
I Must’ve misread it.
It’s performing better than a similarly sized block of RHA(18-20mm LOS, considering both elements) even when it doesn’t explode, whereas Contact-1 provides 10mm RHA of KE protection while being ~11-13mm thick.
Don’t forget the erroneously modeled Side skirts of the M1, that are ~65mm thick are only worth 10-20mm of RHA vs KE, when they have a ~32mm RHA strikeplate in the cross-section, which is further backed onto by two Tri-plate assembies (NERA arrays), to bring the thickness up to 65mm.
What kind of book is this? Who’s the publisher? I only see the specifications of Kontakt-5 in the book.
That’s my point, all side external protection in War Thunder under-performs in certain aspects.
Just because some under-perform more in one way, & others under-perform more in another way, doesn’t mean any of them are over-performing.
All good. My post was explicitly speaking on the angled fixes to side ERA, nothing more.
& there’s potential that they’re still under-performing, as is side external protection in general.
Flat on:
56mm for Chally 2 TES.
59mm for Leopard 2 PSO.
Others:
TUSK 2 [no flier plates, should perform worse than K5 & Relikt]: ~32mm.
Strv 122 comp screen: 50mm.
Ariete War kit: 50mm.
K5/Relikt: ~54mm.
By falsely claiming Relikt is over-performing, said false claims are ruining chances of fixing all other external protection historical reports as well.
Said false claims is also accusing the German military of lying.
? You can see the embedded angled plates in the interior of the M19 ARAT tiles, the M32 Ceramic strike plates are placed over the Tiles to produce the ARAT-2 configuration
The book is from 2003, the Relict armor appeared in 2006. Well, it’s not really about a relic.
