Just so everyone is clear on what’s happening:
Once again, I can’t unselect NA. Which is useful sometimes for naval or top tier ARB, but ground is really not playable at 270ms.

That is very odd. It lets me uncheck everything and select auto to get only SA. Wonder how that happens. Can you have only NA checked and then uncheck it? Crazy that SA is only auto now.
This really is classic Gaijin. Nobody asked for it. It’s not been explained to us and it has unintended negative consequences…

Yeah, if I turn off auto and uncheck NA it just goes back to the above - NA greyed out but checked, queues on NA,SA and auto.
Even if I do the opposite - check CIS and EU and uncheck NA, then hit auto, it goes back to this.

My guess is that the pings for both NA and SA are within the range that auto is set to look for. For me, SA ping is about 70-90 and NA is around 250-300. It probably looks at your lowest ping server and selects any that are within 100 ping of that. If they are going keep the SA server as is, they should probably shrink the ping range for auto to around 50.

I think that just proves my theory. Your ping to the NA server is just low enough, less than 100 ping difference, that it falls within range for auto.This change will really skrew over all of players in situations such as yourself.

Check what CIS means
Commonwealth of Independent States. Used to be called RU. Basically changed the name to refer to the former ussr states.
I’m in the opposite situation to you, I’d prefer it if I got NA & SA in auto, I get 100ms in SA and ~210ms in NA so it’s weird that you’re getting auto NA on a higher ping

Yeah, they are outright lying about how it should work. GRB is now basically unplayable for me.

This really screws over the Australian player base. On SA I would get on average 215-250 ping. I am now being forced to play EU and stuck with 315-350 ping which is making it so so much worse to play.

I have found a bit of a work around, one that strongly suggests it’s more than just a ping check.
If I start the game with set my VPN running and set to Japan, it will reliably set auto to SA only.
I can then turn the VPN off while the game is running so I don’t get the ping bump from it.

This just happened to me last night. I cant play on NA … My ping is 300 and unbearable. Makes me so angry. They effectively get a whole human reaction time advantage over me and i feel it on GRB. Dying while watching my shot land on a tank is next level frustrating. 170 on SA is still rough.

I feel you mate. See my last post above, if you’ve got access to a VPN through your anti-virus or otherwise, turn it on and set you location to Japan before you start the client, then switch it off again. That’ll reliably get auto to pickup SA only.

There would be no need for any discussion about this if they hadn’t removed the SA checkbox. They can have the ‘Auto’ option, who knows? It may even serve some folk - just restore the SA select.

yep got the same problem here im a aussie NA is horrible so only used SA if possible even if i only waited a few mins per game
It gets worse. It randomly removes SA as an option. I was being forced to play on EU servers today. Complete crap that we are forced to play with such a high ping and at a major disadvantage to everyone else because of it. Gaijin NEEDS to fix this.

yea now for me during the day auto forces me into SA servers would be good but those servers are dead during the day and then at night it forces me into NA servers when the SA servers have a lot of players what the hell are they doing
