That is why I said “were”. Some of them are now getting their moment to shine for the first time in 12 years and we instantly hear whining, because the US and Russia, which have been dominating throughout the entire history of this game will lose their edge for once.

After 2005, the USAF stopped receiving new F-16s, although they continued to upgrade their fleet, as seen with the Common Configuration Implementation Program (CCIP), and Post Block Integration Team (PoBIT).
The CCIP brought the Block 40/42 fleet and 50/52 fleet to the same upgrade program, including upgrades such as a more powerful central processor, color cockpit displays, the Sniper XR targeting pod (Phase IB), the “Joint Helmet-Mounted Cueing System” (JHMCS) (Phase II), the AN/APX-113 IFF transponder (as seen with the “bird slicers” on the top of the nose of the F-16C in game), an improved Westinghouse APG-68(v)9 radar, electronic Horizontal Situation Indicator, and the Link-16 data link, amongst other improvements.

So far it is more fair than when they added the f15e, 4 nations are getting a f15e equivalent.
The 2nd most powerful nation in warthunder hasnt had a competitive top tier since the 23mld. “The stats show that russia is winning in AirRB just fine” (while completely ignoring the fact that 99% of ARB matches are mixed and ALL nations have the same 50% win rate lol
“their KD is fine too” only players that are experienced play them and so can obviously pull a good KD. But most of us could bring a toy plane and kill half of the premium players ruining top tier without breaking a sweat, not to mention that we all know which nation cough usa has a very unique problem with no-experience players actually just throwing themselves into the meatgrinder. So when you compare any nation to the USA, the USA looks like they are underperforming and the compared nation appears to be performing well, they are not, the US legitimately have the newest players.
The problem that is being ignored is simply that russia has no real variety of play style, the russian flyers are forced to be reactive and adapt to the enemy and have no ability to force the enemy to adapt. In essence blue team completely controls the fight. Air sim is a great example of this, with a 75%+ win rate blue force steam rolls so hard youll find most 13.0+ air sim lobbies unable to start a match since no one joins red force.
The NATO nations have complete immunity from being struck by the eastern nations if they play smart, the amraam and aim54 and fakour all outrange the garbage r77, the only hope is with China. This update only makes it worse.

Indeed, but IMO they should add the F15E alongside with Eurofighter and Rafale in the same patch. Japan, Sweden, USSR etc shoud also get something new at the same time. Overall, this kind of inconsistency/disappointment is what makes people suffer and mad.
russia being left behind in the air to air department doesn make this update less “fair” that the last one, which is what i was saying…
CCIP still more of a 4th gen. I’d say PoBIT is where it becomes a 4.5 bc of new EW suite and radar
Some of upgrades like the IFF thing and SNIPER XR aren’t in-game so it’s barely a CCIP anyways
