When will we get next gen WT?

Althought WT had change alot since it released during 2013 by content, but the basic mechanic is still the same since 2013, when we can get the new generation of WT where the rock isn’t slippy or more realistic physical model is applied so a 30t armoured vehicle won’t coming in a full stop after hitting a small bushes?

that would need actually good map design tho

Without breaking the two decade old code, it’s quite impossible with the current urge to fix the problems with physics and a high cost operation which I doubt Gaijin really wants to put more money back to the house to improve the looks to actually get more money and people to put fresh money back, two steps backwards and one forward line of thinking.

Realistically, we’re only getting a “War Thunder 2.0” (in terms of next gen) is if Gaijin makes another major upgrade to Dagor or of someone ports the entirety of WT to UE5. Warthunder likely has some atrocious spaghetti from 2013 and the game itself is running off the same lines from 2013 just made bigger and more complex but yet still dated

What we have today is what happens when a game originally developed for WWII aircraft decides to expand all the way to modern tanks and aircraft alongside Naval and Helicopters without ever changing too much in the base (save for the Dagor 2.0 upgrade)

What really messes with me is that on certain maps, parts of the environment are destructible. For example the new map Attica. On the A point, all of the walls are destructible except around the entrance that’s on the B side. The really thin wall on the north and south side of the b entrance are indestructible. Like if you don’t know you at a huge disadvantage. It would be nice if they at least allowed shells to travel though those parts

And also the stupid car, a civilian car can just eat autocannon and machine gun round is just retarded

Exactly. Plus some buildings you can drive through, but some are indestructible. Sometimes at top speed, you will be 1MM too close to a wall and damage your track and all your speed too. It’s kind of silly

I hope we never will, because all next gen updates/games have had horrible performance and WT is running like a hot knife through butter, and that on a potato.
It needs attention somewhere else. That slippy slide we have currently is just a (imo very very bad) solution for a few people finding good spots on maps, which casual player complain about, for example.

Oh god not the UE5. The one thing I’ll always give gaijin credit for is the optimization and so far almost all games on UE5 run terribly

the rocks were intentionally Made slippry a few years ago

No …just no .
Next gen WT. Seriously, worst thought ever.
We need another company to make another game or someone to buy GJ and bring gameplay to this game.
I don’t want any other game from GJ they are very good at modeling things etc. , they just can’t into gameplay…
Literally worst crap ever played in gameplay…It just gets carried from the variety of vehicles.

We dont need a new game to have different game modes, and the graphics of current game are very good still

Just different company because GJ can’t…

Don’t forget that Gaijin runs their other titles off Dagnor and is trying to market it to developers. So unless a new game engine is “backward compatible” with the existing code base, its not likely that they would bother.

What they should do is revise the game’s progression model and game modes. Open the game up to more “nations”, and move away from the emphasis on the TDM of “random battles” to drive progression.
That also is not likely since no only would that cost, but it would risk upsetting the whales who are fine with it the way it is.

Won’t. They could but they won’t.

They’ve done attempts , but ALWAYS miss the point.
Look the last event, SEAD.
How many times we’ve had feedback in the forum (and in game maybe, and Ytube etc.) to tone down the Shilkas because either side can’t play…
Never… even in the second attempt.
And in any other event so far, from the start… they just can’t in to gameplay.
