socialist extremism . . …
You are aware that a more “realistic” model would probably mean many more one shot kills…right?
You sure this is a good idea?
If you also want some of your favorite tanks to have more effective ammo I am pretty sure this would also mean increase their BR…beware what you wish for…
Wait, the APHE don’t almost always kill with one shot? It seems I’m playing a different game.
The main thing that would change if it were done well is that the APHE would not kill as much, and the or APHE would do almost equal damage to the APHE, it is not something terrible that would destroy the MM of the game, and then the tungsten bullets would do more damage but It wouldn’t be nuclear bombs, you have to use logic.
It is easy to see that the tanks are not balanced, many that use APHE could be said to have a certain balance, but those that carry non-APHE bullets even with the Br reduction are not. Why do you think they do that? to please to the players who are already used to the APHE, so if they balanced the bullets realistically the first thing is that you would not kill as much with the APHE, and that would cause tremendous anger because people got used to that, that’s why gaijin is not going to do nothing, happy players = more money they spend.
those that carry non-APHE bullets even with the Br reduction are not.
You determined that by squinting at the tanks really hard and guessing? Or some objective method?
I determined it simply by playing, it is not that difficult to realize.
So yes, you vaguely guessed. If not, and if you gathered some sort of data while playing, please share your spreadsheets etc
More than vague, clearly, because you don’t have to be an extreme expert to realize it, you just have to know how to play minimally to realize that the non-APHE ones need a rebalance for the better and the APHE ones for the worse, just know how to play just a little, a bit.
I have 5,000 battles, I don’t see any clear signs in game that Britain wins any less often than other nations.
Well, make yourself look at it.
I can’t look at something that doesn’t exist. I already look at match outcomes, there’s nothing more to look at. I don’t see it at all shrug
I think you’re imagining things, quite frankly. Gather some actual data if you want to convince people
Yes, I take hallucinogens when I play with the English and French, since in reality what appears in that ARL 44 video does not happen, that I do not kill a tiger in two shots when with a T-34 85 or an M4A1 76w You kill him calmly with a single shot and reloading faster.
The ARL 44 video obviously doesn’t have any info in it about how often French teams win. Again, the balancing issue here is average driver skill. French and British players are more skilled on average. They don’t tend to just drive ARL-44s into an open field with 7 dudes surrounding them, in the first place, because that’s kind of dumb. Thus, they get more success out of it. That compensates and keeps their win rate normal.
When you can’t kill with one shot but they kill you with one shot it does affect, since you lose a tank and the enemy continues fighting, you can always kill people with one shot, or disable them and kill them with the second shot, but when you use a tank with APHE perfectly in a game you can kill almost twice as many because you kill with one shot, that’s why it does affect the win rate, because if you don’t kill in one or two shots, the most normal thing is that you die by another enemy, and That even on top of that this happens because gaijin doesn’t want to make it realistic is the worst. And I repeat again to see the win rate properly, it would have to be games from one country against another, then there you would see the real data, and I’m already telling you, for For example, in Br 4.7 to 6.7 of the British or French against the Germans and Soviets, I would not bet anything on the former.
Again…this is balanced in game. Tanks without APHE usually have better penetration so they can kill things the APHE cannot. A good example is the M10 and Achiles…same vehicle, different guns. The Achiles has a 17pdr that can penetrate all opponents, but usually requires two shots to kill…M10 can usually kill with one shot, but sometimes he faces enemies he cant kill. Achiles used to be 4.0, now it is 3.7 as the M10 and it feels “right” to me (now). Different play styles…with Achiles you have to aim better BUT you can engage frontally almos any enemy. M10 is “easier” to use in most cases, unless you find a tough enemy.
IF the Achiles suddenly becomes better at killing (or M10 worse) then the extra pen on the 17pdr would require a BR difference (either Achiles move up or M10 move down).
THAT SAID…playing APCR or APDS tanks can be annoying sometimes…all Brit players knows this…BUT it is the price you pay for that extra penetration :)
The M10 wolverine and the achilles are the example that the balancing is a shame, the first thing is that the wolverine would have to be at a minimum at Br 3.7 or 4.0, and the achilles at Br 4.3, but of course with the realistic damage models, not with this pseudo WOT damage model.
Why does it seem so problematic to change the Br? If it would be the best thing for the game, to change the damage and penetration model to make it realistic, and thus make the Br depending on the performance of the vehicle.
With the APCR and APDS issue, all those bullets in WW2 were limited, so in those tanks you would have to carry 5 or 10 bullets at most, being limited but with great damage due to spalling, as in reality.
There is no balance with the bullets, clearly if you compare two Br 5.7 tanks for example, you play the same games with a tank with APHE and another Full AP, and you will see that there is clearly a difference, if you play 100 games, with APHE you will die 70 times and you will kill 230, and with Full AP you will die about 85 times and you will kill 180 enemies, the only thing you gain with Full AP is assists, that is why in events where assistance is needed the easiest way is to use British or French. Apart Of that, there is also the problem that there are flaws in the damage model, where there are times that penetrations do not generate damage, and unfortunately this bug affects Full AP much more.
until they remove planes from the game, likely never
APCR and APDS were not limited. Many countries didn’t bother using them since they didn’t perform as well as a filler shell.
Also, a realistic model would mean Italian tanks should violently flip over once hit a round, and the bolted plates could end up becoming shrapnel this wasn’t an issue with Japanese tanks which welded their armor with metal bolts being a reinforcement.
Nevertheless, a realistic model would only make certain minor countries a lot worse in combat. Although you argued with a Community helper trying to disprove their statement you are probably A gonna ignore this or B give me a lengthy Ted Talk on how wrong I am.
There were few APCR and APDS because they were very expensive and tungsten was needed to manufacture other things, so it was preferred to spend it on other things, limiting this type of ammunition to a few per vehicle or even none at all.
Regarding the issues of the different nations, it seems that in reality there is nothing you can do, you just have to live with it and adapt.
The community helper thing haha, it’s the same as always, they prefer to keep unreal problems in the game than to change it and have other problems that were realistic, apparently people want to play WOT but they don’t know it.
Yep.
