Nine years ago the British tech tree was added to War thunder. Usually when a new tech tree was added the premiums of that nation would be moved over to that tech tree such as what happened with the Shot Kal Delet for Israel however the Grant 1 is still for sale in the US tree while Britain doesn’t get a lee or grant variant that is obtainable without the gaijin marketplace.
I learned this was the case back when the “Australia day” pack sales were on and I though "sweet I finally have a Grant to play at low tier with my crusader tanks only to be let down by a premium not getting moved to the correct tree for almost a whole decade.
Has Gaijin forgotten about this tank or is it just ignorance?
(also please let us move the premium over, I want to do a early north African campaign lineup and cant do that with it in America)
Do you think the Grant should get moved the correct tech tree (to Britain)?

I have some sad news. There is a Grant for the British tree, but it was for an event in 2016

He did say no way of obtaining one without the market place. Which means no way at all for console players.

My console friend got the Brit grant from an sl crate, but the average person would have a better chance getting struck by lightning 3 times than pulling anything of value from a crate.

Well, I won’t knock the SL crates too hard because personally I’ve gotten loads of vehicles from them, including on multiple occasions the #1 thing I wanted from them.
If it weren’t previously an event premium, I’d see no problem with Gaijin doing the same thing as the Ram II.
But it was formerly an event premium. I’d be pissed if Gaijin just handed out the LVT(A)(4) or the Swordfish Mk. II like it was candy.
So, for those who do have it, I think it’s only fair for it not to be reintroduced
while i understand the sentiment im very much against gatekeeping a vehicle from a tech tree through events, especially when its one as notable as the grant. its necessary for a good 2.7 lineup and it being unobtainium to new players also ruins hope of historical lineups

Gaijin’s negligence in adding vehicles from some nations to other tech trees is curious. This amount has already happened to the Shot Kal Dalet, the Magach 3 (ERA), the Strv81 with the SS11, and of course, for quite some time, the M3 Grant. To partially correct this, they added an event M3 Grant to the British tech tree. If you look at it, it looks like a newly landed M3, since it doesn’t have rear fenders, the canvas covering the 75mm cannon, the fuel canisters, or the camouflage fabric rolled up on one side.
I’m honestly a history buff, so I like tanks to be in the countries where they were used in combat. Above all, if they’re important tanks that saw significant use, they should be in the tech tree, not the event ones. Then we have the most horrible thing that Gaijin has done in its entire history, which is that, by putting the Merkava 1, 2B (Late) or C, and the 3D as event tanks in the UUSS tech tree, they have blocked in principle the possibility of having them in the Israeli tech tree.

I have less sympathy for the sentiment as it doesn’t make the event vehicle any less unique or special by having it in the British tech tree.
My reasoning being that I bought the grant for the US tech tree with GE for a start, the Russians have a lend lease M3 Lee that’s and event vehicle, the M3 lee also exists as a tech tree vehicle of US. When you consider copy past event vehicles like the most recent T-34-85, the French M46 patton from the battlepass, the fact that tanks Like the LVT(4) 57mm exist in the chinese tech tree alongside the M8 as tech tree vehicles when both were previously only available as US event vehicles. The US Merkava’s that were previously only available as event vehicles prior to the addition of the Israeli tech tree are still highly valued despite being non premium event vehicles also, therefor you can’t even make the case that it devalues the vehicle as a Gaijin Market item.
I bought Grant I(UK) from the marketplace before because I wanted to have a ‘British’ grant.
I understand what you mean, and I agree with your idea in overall.
But I also think that Gaijin will never ever let it go because [it was an event reward! blah ba blah]
We also have KV-1B(Germany) or Hawk H75(Germany) case. Both were Finnish vehicles, but came out before the introduction of Sweden, and Gaijin just didn’t let Nordic get KV-1B or Hawk.
If we really need a tech-tree version of the grant, there must be a heavily modified version which makes a big difference from ‘Event Grant’.
Or we will get zero chance for getting it.
Because Gaijin hates doing their job, and also hate the British.
Look at our tech-tree. we even failed to grab everything we used. (Tons of shermans which were neglected because of nothing but ‘copy paste is bad’ can be one of the examples)
