When will we get gun collision?
Probably never. Gameplay would become so much worse
Probably never but if they do add it it should be for simulator and a toggle in customs.
I would say better. On ground I play mostly arcade and even then I would like such a feature there.
Barrels and turret drives could get progressively damaged when you ram them into stuff, depending on the speed/force/object you ram into.
Also would make IFV’s more useful for close quarters
Literally any forest would be unplayable for any tank. All close quarters battles would go away, and it makes vehicles even more map dependant than they already are
It would be more difficult as it is supposed to be, but you can still ram most trees easily if needed, just use the hull, not the barrel. You would need to be more aware of your surroundings.
I think it would add more depht to the game and strategy
This is under the assumption that Tank turrets and their cannon cannot break a tree which we know it can and if you are smaller don’t need to worry as much.
Never and that is good
All it would do is promote more corner camping and passive gameplay while punishing people who play actively, and we have enough things ingame that promotes that, so… no.
Also quite odd for you to be in favor of this considering you main the ground tutorial battles mode and not realistic / sim, where Gaijin would likely forego adding this mechanic to.
object 120: get the hell out of here bro
Possibly, but I would still like to see it added. It would add more depth and mechanics to the game. The less realistic you make the game and more call of duty ish you make it, the less people camp, but it detracts from the purpouse of vehicle gameplay IMHO
I prefer not dying to CAS so often. It’s also less “campy” which you were complaining about just now.
This game is “realistic”, but only to a certain point, and as part of the games appeal over something like WoT, but for all intents and purposes that have fundamentally similar gameplay structures. If you want to make the game (game in this context being grb) more “realistic” you just turn it into a simulator, which is not the purpose of the game and doesn’t fit into the established gameplay loop of grb, if added, this should at best be a gsb mechanic where there’s more intent put into making the mode a more grounded experience that’s still ultimately gamey.
To me current grb strikes a perfect balance between the “realism” aspects, and then the gamifications done for it (3rd person drone cam, sniper mode from barrel, etc.) and can go without changes that would heavily alter the gameplay of all urban and forested maps
I rarely die to cas in grb, even in top tier where people see it as problematic, so I don’t know, personal experience varies and I credit playing aggressively and not lingering in locations to part of my survivability.
For you, sure. But I would love to see more depth added into it, like the gun collision. I would love to see things like more terrain interaction like snowrunner/mudrunner does for example.
All of these would add more depth to the game, it doesn’t necessarily need to be realistic (snowrunner isn’t realistic) but it’s fun to have more depth with more game mechanics, which makes the game more immersive.
Why not having crew injured by collisions?
Hitting a wall at 50 km/h in a steel box with no safety features and walking away without a scratch isn’t realistic either.
It would be pain in the abs to model, because it would need to affect tanks physics on how it moves. Especially hard since this is a multiplayer game and the devs can’t even model two player tanks (or dead bodies) colliding without constantly vibrating.
Some of the threads and comments here really make me question whether forum-users actually play the game or just sit afk in spawn for the entire match to then complain that ground rb hasnt been turned into a sim-game yet
