Since the last update the sound of vehicles in tank battle is inaudible beyond a few meters and as soon as there is a building between me and another vehicle I can no longer hear it, I can only hear other vehicles when they are very close and without obstacles between them and me. I’ve been avoiding playing Ground because it’s impossible to play like this.
Its been a month already and they still haven’t fixed it, when will this get fixed??
Its even worse when your engine sound is somehow louder than an enemy tanks’ that’s right next to you or very close…
I have my engine sound very low (about 35) and I undergo great paranoia whenever I hear the faintest of engine sounds because I have no clue if its my engine or someone elses
Im very familliar with the jaguar XK engine (which the J60 powerpack is derived from) as my great uncle owned a lot of jaguar cars, none of them even if you straightpiped the hell out of them would be loud enough to overpower the noise from 20l+ v12 engines we see in tanks.
Ive been to tankfest and you cant even shout a conversation to the guy next to you with a challenger or leopard idling nearby
I’m not saying they aren’t loud, most combat vehicles are. The volume in game drowns out other vehicles that are equally as loud or louder. The Fox reminds me of an M88 under load in game.
yea its stupid. Ive done a report on the inconsistent loud noises on this engine across all vehicles that have it. it was accepted 4 months ago so i doube anything will come of it as gaijin wants that vehicle to be as kneecapped as possible

Now enemies make no sound when using binos or the sight instead of only very little.
I never understood how using binos would lower the sound as it is literally your commander sticking its head out from the tank, but somehow gaijin modeled binos as a “inside tank” module and therefore it has the sound cut…
Well now its at least fair because NOONE has proper sound XD
