What's most effective for taking out ground targets in Air Arcade?

I was reading a reddit post from about 6 months ago if I remember correctly and someone basically asked what was best for destroying ground targets in arcade mode and someone responded by saying that “tactical bombers” and essentially what the game recognizes as “attackers” are now best for this in arcade mode.

I’ll admit that I have been just flying out fighters and completely ignoring bombers/ attackers myself but I’ve noticed recently that I can consistently put up a 2.5 K/D ratio and still lose. I remember back when I played years ago, I actually played some bombers in arcade and would more consistently win (by destroying ground targets) despite getting shot up a lot more and doing a lot less A2A killing.

So, if your aim is to take out ground targets, what’s your pick? A big hefty high flying bomber, or a more manueverable “attacker”, or something different altogether. (Hey, you can equip a lot of fighters with bombs after all.)

I just run armor piercing ammo and when I have a lull in air combat, like when people are re-arming or just no enemies in close proximity, I try to take out some ground targets. I personally won’t specifically bring in vehicles for this purpose, but it’s never a bad thing to have the means readily available if needed. AP is still plenty effective for air to air, so it’s an easy option to have.

Not a bad idea as the AP rounds seem to do well against planes as well but I was moreso referring to tanks.

AP rounds were specifically mentioned for medium tanks or pillboxes.

Anything else on the ground is easily killable with any kind of rounds.

I’m sorry but to my knowledge AP rounds cannot by themselves destroy medium/ heavy tanks can they? What Br are we talking about// all BR’s? I have some learning to do.

They can depending on the cannon and the roof armour thickness of the specific tank. But a general rule would be to take bombs or rockets to deal with them.
