What in your opinion would best fit the gap that the ho-ri production is leaving behind?
It has already been officially stated (unfortunately) that nothing is planned to take it’s place and the type 99 sph is good enough

Is there such a thing?
In short: the Ho-Ri project was very real and resulted in a cannon that was ready to be serially produced and mounted, and five vehicles which were 50% built at the end of the war and for which all their armor plating had been produced. This is enough to have it added to the game.
However, the design that was chosen is not the one we have in-game, and would end up at around 6.0 BR.

I see, I did not know that the real ho-ri got that far. I would absolutely love to get that version in the game, it would be very unique especially if they give it the AA mount.

Armor would suck unless Gaijin wanted to play a bit fast and lose and thicken the hide a little. The two 20mm might be good at losing a tanker.
It would be extremely funny if the AA mount in the back was “remote controlled” like the roof guns in the vast majority of tanks, like T29’s.

Gaijin wont get away with that one. Anyway with infantry mode coming this seems to be a issue they will fix. Otherwise .50cal will be OP though I doubt people will enjoy the nerf.
We will see. Many roof guns are intended to be used by soldiers riding on top of the tank and not by the crew directly. I don’t think they’ll make .50s have a separate guy on top.

They could also not include the 20mm but that would be sad as SPGs with heavy MGs / Auto Cannons do very well in game keeping light vehicles away.
IRL it did not pan out.
On the one hand there’s no proper replacements to the Ho-Ri except for adding the actual Ho-Ri based on actual schematics and mockups of the vehicle in question. Though it won’t be added any time soon. On the other hand; Japan does have other glaring gaps that this could be a good time to address. Such as no light tanks between BR’s 4.0 - 6.3. The Scorpion, PT-76B and EBR FL-11 could be decent picks. There’s also a gap between BR’s 6.3 & 7.7 for light tanks too. The PT-76M and FSV Badak could be good fillers. Maybe a upgraded Thai M41A3 could fit there too.
There’s other examples but you should get the point.
Not making them unobtainable in the first place is the best option
Add the rest of the removed vics back too. This should be put to an in-game vote as theres no way this is what most people outside of the forums want.

Given Japans naval bomber line now ends at 3.7 with the removal of the R2Y2 and still has not received a replacement for it I doubt we will get anything.
One of the dev. was also in the thread claiming the Type 99 is a replacement for it… cuz you know how great the armour on that thing is, it can totally replace the one actually armoured vehicle japan has.

Its still in game and this has to be the strangest (plenty of other words can be put here) decision iv ever seen in gaming
Outside of the forums not many people.care if its real.
People care when they are killed by a vic and cant even obtain whats killed them. Just removing them is too late now as they are in game.
Add all removed vics back and just say it was an experiment no more will be added
I read gaijin is even going to put the premium on sale before it gets half baked removed- so removed because of reasons …but hurry up and buy

Japan isn’t allowed anything good.
Take the R2Y2 (the V1 at least, the 2 and 3 are at best thought experiments). the R2Y2 had a prototype fly under prop power, 2 fuselages build that had no provisions for the fuselage piston engine so could only ever fly with wing mounted engines and at a minimum the the TR30 engines built and tested, if not the NE330s that where just license built BMW-003As… But no, too fictional, removed.

Personally I think they (along with the other removed vehicles) should be changed to squadron vehicles, make them harder to get but still obtainable. We have PZH-2000s derping WW2 tanks, what’s having a design that got it’s development ended by the end of WW2 by comparison?
