What would be the worst next gen IR missile?

Next gen IR missile would most likely be added this year. So I was wondering which next gen IR missile be worst and which would be the best

r74m would be the best since its Russian, everything else will be as good as an aim 9b

I personally think 9X might be worst amongst all of the next gen IR

Best, probably the MICA IR, IIR and datalink, long range and also good old TVC for WVR engagements.

Worst, probably the R-74m2, no IIR seeker compared to others.

IIR isn’t modeled anyways and I sincerely don’t expect them to actually model it.

Yeah it isn’t, maybe once they actually get added for air platforms they’ll finally model such tech, but as you said it’s not guaranteed.

My expectation is that in the majority of cases all of the seekers will be extremely good at rejecting CM to the point of being virtually at the same level of performance so in general the difference will be in terms of range and maneuverability.

Yeah the missiles with both a long range and good maneuverability would be the most meta, I can see the Mica, IRIS-T and 9x blk 2 working really well, and some other like the asraam working slightly worse.

9x blk2 is more manurable and has better range then ASRAAM?

Not better range no, goes for the IRIS-T as well, but both having TVC (9x and IRIS) would be good for the current meta.

AIM-9X or R-74M/M2 would probably be the weakest

I mean, depends really, I feel like adding hyper CM resistant IR missiles is just gonna make people even more reluctant to engage in close up fights. Range is probably gonna be the defining factor as DL + IR is gonna be crazy deadly.

They have a range of strengths and weaknesses. So context is really critical to answer that question

Like in a really short range fight, and wanting to fire in HOBS, ASRAAM would probably be one of the worst because its built around speed, and so has a large turning raidus off the rails.

But also has the fastest time to target of any IIR SRAAM and one of the highest ranges too. Its deadly at short to medium ranges played to its strengths

but probably the Aim-9X or R-74 if you want a quick and dirty answer

Which probably will mean it will be the best because gaijin will model its dual-mode? to be waaaaay stronger for “reasons”
