Only eurofighter EK will bring some stuff that will be equal but not enough to be on par, and well a new new radar for eurofighter might not even happen with how hard it was and how it is right now with those countries having a totally different focus.
And even in the far future, in terms of UCAV, Rafale will have the top of the top.
For now it’s impossible to know about that part, what was clearly said is that the new radar will be made in order to track really small target like drones/stealthy planes and even f4.2 irst already allow the full ~ use of meteor from officials.
No sorry, i mean one after, but anyway it will still keep up, it just won’t be the best of the best i guess.
Are you sure that that includes Arexis tho and not just the step 1 upgrade for the ECRS Mk1? Because the first normal Tranche 4s dont seem to have Arexis installed
The first T4’s neither have AMK or the large display installed either (which is one of the key features of t4) from what i can tell so itll most likely be a retrofit boogaloo, but like i have posted above EF EK step 1 is intended to be installed or fitted unto t4’s
13. Will the 15 EF EK [Eurofighter Electronic Combat] aircraft announced as part of the Tornado successor programme be ordered as completely new aircraft in addition to the existing and already-ordered Eurofighters, or will existing or already-ordered aircraft merely be further developed for the EK role?
a) If existing aircraft are to be further developed or converted, how many Eurofighters from each tranche are to be made available for this purpose (please break down by tranche)?
Questions 13 and 13a are answered jointly.
The intention is to primarily enable the aircraft of EF Tranche 4 (Quadriga) to perform the armament role EF EK Step 1.
First ive seen for actual “commitment” to carry Spear-3 on the EFT, so far it was just using the EFT as the test platform with the main focus being for the F-35
For the UK we still don’t have a firm commitment to SPEAR-3 on Typhoon and are still bringing it into service with F-35B (when its done dear god). Though I’d imagine the the global situation continues to degrade who knows, urgent operational requirements are often the fastest path to change, as we saw in the Gulf with Tornado.
Well we will see, the DIP is taking as long as it is due to the rapidly changing security environment we’ve found ourselves in. Numerous new types of warfare, disrupted global supply chains. Imagine trying to come up with a long term plan in the current time haha. Every other day something new and insane is going on.
I think the first step and priority at the moment is AESA deployment, everything else is relatively simple in comparison. Also upgrades like the new cockpit might be waiting on Striker II to be deployed. I dont think it has been yet
