Thats if gaijin doesnt add Austria to germany before they add it. Id rather Austria get the canada treatment where their vehicles get split to who needs them. Though who knows we could just lose Denmark to the germans since they want an f16 so badly rn. Literally the only reason they want DK is the f16AM.
J-35-13 would like a word :3
My honest reaction
Spoiler
Real
I am serious though- J-35-13 was a D-model Draken used to test the viggen’s CM system and RWR. Tbh it should be tech tree (Even though its a prototype)
F-35 should be tech tree, J35O should be premium.
Sweden cant have another TT draken. Gaijin has to sell it to us.
Not even my J35J or F? :((
No because gaijin wants your money
Genuinely never seen the radar attached to that pic tbh
They never actually mounted the radar to the 2M to my knowledge. It was planned to be mounted but the finnish didn’t see the need for the vehicle by the time the vehicle actually finished testing. As with most vehicles gaijin will probably (not add it, as any nation but russia isnt allowed to have spaa at brs.) add it with the radar so finland has an actual spaa and not a Tank destroyer disguised as an spaa as you know the rest of the nordic TT is.
HE-VT, ill try to refind the document but it was an ammo tested by the finnish during the 2M’s trial.
Gaijin be Like: You got your Domestic HMD on your JAS39 so you’re gonna be happy with it, jokes aside i loved new HMD.
I’ve been tolkd that it was tested with Chinese 57 mm HE-VT shells. Also notice the angular turret. Radar was only a plan early on and was dropped even before the upgrade was canceled. It was instead decided to go with a similar FCS to the 23 ItK 95 which should entail thermals and IRST. Exactly what was present on the prototype is unclear however
That one T18 that tested a twin 40mm setup, sure it didnt work very well irl but this is a game so eh.
Does anyone have a pic of it btw?
What now???
Yeah, I’ll copy from Wikipedia, summarizes it pretty well:
“In 1949, a new installation was tested with two 40 mm Bofors automatic cannons instead of the 57 mm akan m/47. However, the pressure shocks in connection with firing were so great that the plexiglass nose split, which caused the testing to be interrupted.”
Though it failed irl, it would be nice to see it work in game.
Bell p59A and Yak 141 ect ect made it into the game and the p59a has fictional stats considering the actual reports of the vehicle stated it was a horrid aircraft with sub par performance
A Lastterrängbil with a 40mm on the back, cant figure out which model exactly it is but its one of the ones based on the Volvo Viking.
Thing is, those types of Ltgb weren’t used until the mid 50’s - 60’s (Depends on the model), could this have been equipped with an L/70 then?
Not quite. This is a 1980s vehicle. It’s not based on a Viking but a Volvo N7-10 so just a regular truck (lastbil not lastterrängbil). This vehicle was built at one of the engineer regiments circa 1986 as a simple short range air defence solution with a spare 40 mm L/60
Ah, my mistake, image search showed viking as the closest match. Now why they would even think in the 80’s that this would work, perhaps against helicopters but still…
