What Vehicles are Sweden in most need of ”the wishlist”

What source suggests that the Wärtsilä V8X engine was specifically tested on a Finnish T-72M1 and that the effort was carried out for FINMOD? In the video it’s just mentioned as T-72 and it kinda looks to have Finnish camo in some shots it’s quite hard to tell. I’m sure there was interest in the upgrade effort on behalf of the FINMOD program but how integrated were the efforts really?

What source confirms that these upgrades were actually carried out? From What I’ve read most features were only planned. Only solid evidence I’ve seen are for the V-84-1 engine and rubber tracks

Pvmoodle and olli dahl.

Cant really give anything better as source, I am stil trying to dig up the original presentation file I had long ago.
But Olli Dahl was part of the modernization effort as Lieutenant Colonel

Anyway, What i think we need second to a proper SPAA, a heavy tank. Is the quick:
Pvtgb 1111, Pvtgb 9031 or the missile carrying equivalents. We need fast, small vehicles capable of reaching position quick and having a low profile so they aren’t spotted.

In other words:

XA-185 TOW pls.

Pretty much opposite of small but sure XD, we need patria vehicles in the TT!!

Hmm, if you want small than I think this is more up your alley.

A lot of memes out of nowhere.

Anyways, speaking of rat vehicles: The Carden-loyd tankette armed with a 57mm recoilless rifle that Sweden was experimenting with could be fun.

Looks like a fun 4.0 - 5.7 ?

How good is the cannon?

Not sure, this is supposedly from the ww2 period but i cant find a 57mm recoilless cannon in the artillery registry from that time period. It might be an experimental cannon so your guess is as good as mine…

Is it possible that they modified a 57mm Pvkan m/43 to be recoilless, would that even work?

I dont think so. looks a tad too big to be 57mm, it looks like the Finnish 95mm 95 S 58-61 " raskas sinko" but at the same time it has way more alike the breach of the 57mm, my theory is this.

They took a 57mm Pvkan and simply attached the same function principle that the 15 cm fsthaub m/02, Bofors made some experiments testing if it was possible to make a recoilless “Lightweight” AT-cannon. If anything i bet this is the evolution to the Pvkan 1110.

This one,

Wait no that just another wierd but funny vehicle, hehe. Bantam

No this one!

The 57mm had the same muzzle brake design as this cannon, it is most likely a Bofors 57mm Pvkan m/43 with an experimental recoilless mechanism to make it work better on a tankette chassis.

Looked a bit more into it. According to This, its apparently a “57 mm pansarvärnskanon fm/44” recoilless cannon. Sweden developed the cannon in 1944 and experimented with in on the CL in 1945.

As for its preformance: “With an initial projectile speed of 1000 m/s, an armor-piercing projectile could hit, at a distance of 300 meters, a sheet 80 mm thick, installed at an angle of 30 degrees from the vertical.”

Its no 5.7 but its still a rat, i say add it at around 3.0.
