What the hell is going on with base AA at hightiers

spawn camping in air rb isnt that common tbh… so I dont know about this statement

I know that stats say almost nothing but at some point they do indicate a bad player. Another specific manner is “Airfield camping”, indicated by high K/D but low kills per match. What makes a good player is their ability to kill others while minimizing risks. Any player can farm ground targets or line up a crosshair of the bombsight but defeating someone in a similar/better plane or better position takes skill. A good player prioritises the biggest threat and tries to eliminate it. Ai targets are not a threat, the last guy who could come out at any moment if left unattended is a threat.

While Gaijin does NOT fix the balance problem, this will NOT happen

I don’t know what kind of ARB matches you’re playing because I see it on a very common frequency.

Fair assessment. That said, it’s still important to PTFO if a team wants to win. While killing AI may be dull, it is necessary if a team wants to win. To ignore them is to beg for an otherwise preventable loss.

“spawn camping” not letting the last one rearm is spawncamping?

Spawncamping is camping the enemy spawn and killing them as soon as they leave or their spawn protection ends, or in other cases invading the spawn area and killing them right in it.

For ARB, it’s camping outside of the AF AA engagement zone and killing them as they come out of it.

It’s a scummy, talentless tactic and regular practitioners of it are unworthy of any semblance of respect, as far as I am concerned.

this is a problem in grb.

this isnt a problem, if you have multiple aircraft near your airfield you cannot do anything to wing the game, you can cope how you want, but thats how the gamemode is, if you dont like it blame gaijin that we still have small maps with 16v16 and only 2 airfields.

True.
There is one map, I think it’s Hürtgen, with 3 AF. Very rare af camping and spawn camping.

Or they should make it so that they cover whole battlefield ? So you have a easier time playing on the ground.

Seeing how OP air is vs ground units . And never count on your team to spawn in spaa because there is never a team in WT.

People that cant kill people that camp AF at and above whatever br real damage model SPAAs appear have skill issue imo.

The only map with 3 airfields i am aware of is the

[Air Battle] Moscow 1941

map i see frequently at prop BRs.

Airfield camping on this map is:

  • pointless as the 3 airfields are more or less in a straight line with around 10 km separation. As all 3 airfields have fully functional and deadly af aaa the uncovered distance between 2 airfields is ~ 6 km - way too small for an all-in strafing run.

  • rather unlikely because the distance between own and enemy airfields (the counter part on the other side of the map) looks like at least 45-50 km. As the main reason u get camped is often that subpar players got damaged early game, need repairs and come back later camping you (who was longer in the fight) with their alt advantage whilst you are rearming the sheer distance between friendly an enemy airfields limits this option.

Despite the constant complains about af aaa at prop BRs in the pinned thread gaijin intoduced a map with actually way more aaa cover 😂

It’s a problem in all game modes.

It is a problem, though a solution isn’t black and white. Climbing to alt within your AF AA is one solution, but you can only climb so high so its viability is ultimately limited. Also, I’m not the one coping about it. I personally don’t care to much about AF campers - They’re making a mistake that I can easily exploit so I do. Take it up with the others complaining about it.

As for blaming gaijin, I’ve always been calling them out for their garbage map design the entire time I’ve been on the forums.
