Imho this describes perfectly the downfall of AirRB with regards to player experience / skill.
But even with 100% deadly af aaa at prop BRs you can’t land, j out and leave - there is always a subpar player trying a suicide dive into the af aaa whilst you are landing.

If that dude decides to blow 10 minutes circling the AF, that’s his choice. 10 minutes is plenty of time to turn a match around hitting AI. If your team can’t do that whilst at least 1 person keeps an eye on the dude than your team, gaggle of randoms they may be, just doesn’t deserve to win because they failed to PTFO properly from the start.
25 minutes is a match prolonged by some airfield camping pleb, 10 to 15 minutes is the average match, any br with decent missiles lasts 7 to 10 minutes and toptier is mostly over after not even 5. My team deserves the win in this case, since they managed to get a numbers advantage and prevented the enemy from winning with tickets (Might be too late if the advantage got too big, not every team has equal attackers). 10 minutes is not enough to turn a 2k+ ticket gap around, depending on your remaining team size and planes. The one guy keeping an eye still gets lower rewards than he should and also spends 10 minutes doing nothing because someone wont accept that he lost and your squadmate who died to ping can cook a decent meal while hes waiting for the match to finish. Not everyone can play for hours at a time, and behaviour like this can turn a day with 8 matches into one with 2.
Air RB currently is basically TDM, and you can fuck off with your insults they contribute even less than your repeated arguments. I cant help you if you think its fair to let half an enemy team waste their time doing nothing. For attackers to win they need to kill ai targets, which they didnt otherwise they would have won with tickets. For bombers to win they need to not play bombers and for fighters to win they have to kill the enemy team. That is Air RB. You cant force fighter pilots, playing for duels, doghfights and whatnot to mindlessly shoot at dots on the ground because some guy feels the need to hide behind an impenetrable wall of flak. Personally id like to do huge bomber formations destroying a huge industrial complex (or something like that), id like to play cas against evenly matched air defence but Air RB does not offer this kind of gameplay. Farming ground in Air RB, as the name implies is farming without any brain needed. Even headons are more tasking and thats why i think that the team that clapped the other deserves the win.
If i dont enjoy farming ai, why should i do it then? If it was fun i wouldnt mind doing it but right now the ai either does nothing or fucks you in one hit in rare cases. The kind of RP/SL i would get from those ai are similar to the ones i get for 2 kills, maybe an assist on top which is not even hard in most planes. The difference is that fighting others is for me and many others more enjoyable than shooting the ground without any risk at all.
Lets change the situation: You have a ticket advantage, 15 mins on the timer and a numerical advantage. Does the basecamper still deserve the win? Does he have the right to prolong the match for everyone else just so he doesnt die despite being able to J out on the runway without any risk? Its a problem with the gamemode and the easiest solution is to nerf airfield AA so passive behaviour is not rewarded anymore. The better solution is to change the gamemode entirely but that wont happen in the near future.
btw you still have not talked about how the guy keeping tabs gets ccked completely in terms of rewards/time

Every now and then if the aircraft in question is particularly dangerous. Otherwise, I’ll either be the one to keep an eye on him outside of the detection range or let someone else do that as I hit AI targets.
nah I just do it bc it doesnt bring me any sl for letting him live 5minutes longer, in the long run it would even cost me time and potential fun minutes in a game…
Doesn’t matter whether you like it or not. That is wholly irrelevant to the match outcome; The only thing that affects outcome is player actions. If your team does PTFO properly, you will win. If your team does not, you will lose. It’s that simple. Is killing the other team part of PTFO? Absolutely. However, it is not the only OBJ to win the game - It is one of a few options. Your feelings are entirely irrelevant to what is required for the desired outcome. You want to win, then you MUST PTFO. Anything less means you lose. That’s all there is to it.
Your question doesn’t make any sense by the way, as it indicates my team has the full advantage on everything and needs to do little else to win the match but to finish off the AI whilst the losing team’s final player just hangs out at his AF. Try editing it, first. Or ask it a different way.
yep good uck enjoying you overdone matches in your subsonic fighters while you want some 3rd or 4th gen fighter… and saying that playing the missions is the way of winning is the real way, then you didnt aknowledge the fact that noone plays them bc they are pretty poorly designed… and your rewards do suffer if you play like this
