What the hell is going on with base AA at hightiers

They usually do it when they have a ticket advantage and a skill/numbers disadvantage. It’s pussy behavior

Then fly something that has low ammo count and enjoy rearming for 5 ground targets instead of going in another match and having some fun/reward fighting players. If the match is far from decided, then yes strafing is a way to show you suck at the game but at the end, with a slight ticket disadvantage and a high numbers advantage it isnt. There are so many games 1v5 or more, and the one guy wins because he skillfully flies low alt circles over his af. Or 1v3s where one guy has to “camp” the airfield to keep the remaining enemy at a disadvantage.

Nice, i’d like to rearm and repair in peace.

[Lot of sarcasm and irritation coming.]
Oh no! I can’t camp enemy airfields for free frags! The horror! How else am I supposed to get frags except by having unfair advantage?

I have to take out ground targets instead, how dare I be forced to earn extra rewards via an elongated game!

Alright, end of sarcastic critique.

In all seriousness I do ground striking when no one’s around the battlefield because it’s extra rewards than just fragging the last guy or two, and it gives ticket advantage.

There is no defined use for base AA, gaijin has never really specified what the intent of it is.

Are you trying to say it’s NOT meant to keep enemies away from the airfield because that’s all I said

I am saying that its not said what the point of it is? There are other purposes to base aa other than “die if approach”

My statement was simple, I wouldn’t say that guns and missiles are meant to attract hostile planes

sigh, let me break it down for you

Base could be meant for a few things…:

  1. To COMPLETELY KILL ALL THAT APPROACH
  2. To heavily DISCOURAGE approaching but not to be a “forcefield”
  3. To be a slight deterrent but not meant to keep you from killing ppl on runway
  4. Cosmetic

That is the varying degree to which they could model aa… they have not said which they actually mean to have

You are acting like I made a complex comment. Seriously read my reply again, our points are not mutually exclusive.

Are you the type of mf that calls the last plane on their team that stays near their air defense a coward when its literally a 1v5?

Exactly f’ing this.

they are a coward, theyre literally camping their invicibility death box. are you an aa abuserl lmao?

That wasn’t his point, also, easy kills is easy RP, and big red letters make me happy. If you are camping and airfield and you are 1. The last guy , or 2. Being passive like a little POS , you deserve to be strafed on the ground anyway.

Only time I think it’s not not okay is when 3-4 are on airfield and they are resupplying weapons or refueling.

That’s passive gameplay, and that’s Lé Nôt Cōōl. At least try and go for one kill, or if you can take them all, go for it, but don’t be a passive little camper on the airfield. Admit defeat and die or leave the match, or J out.

how about I bait planes to the air field, get most of them killed, 1v1 the last guy and win?

That’s still passive gameplay and generally frowned upon by most players, and if they aren’t purely blinded by kill rewards or ending the match, they won’t fall for it.

its not. I’m actively participating in getting the enemy killed and getting myself closer to victory :)

I have to find it…

No but they do want the match to end so they try anyway.

Surely satire.

Have to find what?

a reason to give a damn

you calling trying to dodge enemy planes as they get shot down by AA passive is a joke
