Try to limit yourself to 1 option, which plane you like a lot but rarely play or don’t play at all, and why is that?
For me: F-14A Early (12.3)
Because of the mediocre loadout, bad radar and ancient RWR that doesn’t even give launch warnings and sits in a very unforgiving matchmaker.
mirage 2000D-RMV, love two seater in line planes and it was quite usable up till about February 2025
J8b (11.3)
The fm and weapon is decent but i cant do anything with an useless rwr in f4s and mig23 bracket
The stock grind is hell
J7W. Coolest plane of all time, but unfortunately it is just bad. Isn’t fast enough, and can’t turn. Only thing it has are strong guns
I didn’t bother crewing any of my J8’s yet.
I have been playing the J37C which I unlocked recently. It has a similarly bad RWR at the same BR, although it has a very useful feature which distinguishes pulse/hprf/mprf signals, so you at least can guess if there are PD radars looking at you or just normal SRC ones, and although the RWR doesn’t give any sense of range, you get a PD TWS radar so you can track the guy anyway (if you find him)
100% its my favourite looking prop because of the quirky design, I never bothered crewing it because the performance is so bad for the BR. Doesn’t matter how many guns you have if you can’t get into a position to use them properly
that german dorito, no matter how hard I tried it just way too difficult to master, feels exactly like playing unstabilized tank vs fully stabilized tank.
I mean it’s decent for CAS
Any F-4 Phantom. They werent exactly the best even when they were top tier, now they are just hornet food.
All the harrier 1s. Drastically underperforming flight models, even 9L doesnt save them as they become F-5 food that high up.
BAE Hawk. arguably one of the absolute worst jet airframes in game performance wise but have a single aspect of them that gaijin thinks is worth putting them as high as they are is fair.
Gloster Meteor. Good turnfighter but sabre food.
De Havilland Vampire/Venom. very pretty sabre food thats also just as overtiered as all hell.
English Electric Lightning. It is R3R and Magic 1 food because a early 50s drag racer is totally able to deal with that…
All of them are extreme victims of BR compression. but have their own unrelated issues from compression too.
J7w/j6k1, basically just gunboats at a way higher br than they should. Ki-87 and all high altitude heavy fighters, the current layout of air realistic heavily favors low to mid altitude fighters.

Very suprised about the phantoms since the 11.3 and 12.0 ones are among the best jets at their BR’s. But which jet would you single out? You listed a bunch. Whats your favourite one among those, that you refuse to play for whatever reason
It’s somehow better than the J-8F by a decent margin. I would recommend trying it more because it’s a slightly worse Mig-23 at a lower BR.
My answer would be the Mig-29G because I like the Mig-29s, but It’s just so outclassed with awful MM.
Honourable mention to the Mig-23BN because it’s just not as good as some 9.3s, yet at 9.7.

Its just so disgusting I just feel bad and wont touch it for months after a game with it. Last time I killed a Maus with the 500kgs and before that flew an ace.
Which variant do you find most fun/effective? I love the design of the 29KR/35 but I think the SMT is the sweet spot regarding effectiveness for the BR. Mostly because of the extra CM’s and good radar
I’ve yet to purchase and play it, but I’ve heard the KR is pretty good.
It is. 29M is faster and gets up to 8 R-77 and you can bring 27ER/ET, while the 29KR is the better dogfighter but draggy at supersonic speeds
literally anything cause with my luck im always facing some stupid br like ill take a F2H and enemy team will have 3 MIG-15s or ill take F14A and get nuked by a SU30 there is no wining
but to pick one it would be the F101 by demons like J35XS or MIG-21 MF

Why Eurofighter?
Because I don’t have it, i am still at rank 5 air for both Britain and Germany so it will take me alot of time to get it and play it
Why B-52H?
Because landing it is quite difficult after a bomb run, even though you have enough bombs to bomb 2 and a half base, but sometimes matches last wayyy longer and you need to land to get more bombs
Anything top tier.
BVR is incredibly dull.
Basically anything WW2 Macchi. They’re sleek, I find them to fly superbly and be some of the most comfortable to handle, and I could never learn to achieve anything in them. I can’t pick-up any decent kill with the low tiers’ MGs, the higher C205s feel outclassed by what’s in front, I’m just a disaster with them. I love them, they’re the planes on which I learnt to fly, but I had to move on to planes where I actually progressed some, which seemed to be pretty much anything else. Don’t know why…
