Over all i really don’t enjoy war thunder mainly due to stupid teammates however seeing target destroyed is one of the reason that i like playing game and sometimes graphics are also beautiful. Custom battle are also really fun however sometimes a group of people keep on killing you over and over again. However the most amount of fun that i get in game is playing low tier. I recently started grinding British tree and low tier is like custom battle without the bulling :D
I remember I started playing during covid (so 2020), it was the first time a game burnt my motherboard lol.
Right now Im still playing it because I like the pennetration realistic values, and not that dogsh like WoT when you even face invisible enemies and flanking means nothing. Also the combined arms are fun, with the use of CAS and dealing with spaa.
Yeah wt has been showing me some unfair treatment in some aspects (cough volumetric, bmpt, cough cough). But still overall im having a blast.
Its also fun grinding new trees, I started with germany, then usa, then israel and now china. I just hope to see latin america TT and well gotta try korea in the future.
Its not like the game I play most or anything like that.
12 years. And i hate it. Its worse and worse every year. Economy is worst since they changed the action based economy to time based,that was biggest mistake. Why should i get less RP/SL for 7 kills in 5 minutes than a guy who gets 1 but survives 10? Who did more for the team to win? I did,specifically in ARB it have huge impact. Then i hate having to play top tier or high tier to actually progress further in my trees as in all of them i am above 10.7. Back in the day i could play my favourite Ersatz M10 and Panther A,and research Leopard with same speed, nowadays cause of the research penalty i cant.
If I have to say what I do not like, then:
- op premiums
- half baked modeling (autoloader, basket, armor)
- unrealistic features (ldircm, bmpt ammo rack, blowout pannels)
- copy paste
- forgetting about israel (no saclos spaa/light tank yet?? Not even a good top tier spaa)
- events asking for a lot of playtime, plus upgrade cupon
- battle pass making me to play naval
- economy its not enough for the vehicle rp requirement
- no new game modes
- heli pve and assault arcade forgotten
- op cas dominating ground (im not asking to be removed)
- ground sim being a cas festival
- modification research for aircraft and helis too much
- unfixed bugs after months/years (FnF missile attack trayectory and laser guided bombs)
I and my friend slam enemies with cas while talking about life, weather, study and other stuff.

Overall I enjoy playing Warthunder for 12+ years
But I don’t like the inconsistent damage model in top tier.(fuel tanks, spallliners, ERA, volumetric, bombs/missiles not killing tanks with direct hits etc.)
I think it’s the sources of frustration for many players.
Let’s just say, you really have to work to have fun.
Like playing for fun is great, but when you have to grind to unlock vehicles and then grind to get their true performance, then more often than not it’s not fun.
I don’t do events.
I don’t do the BP.
I don’t use boosters, only if they expire.
I hardly grind vehicles any more.
(Also no premium time, because I hate being forced to play just to play)
Then for a few matches it can be fun until it gets stale because it’s the same over and over.
Not to mention that random map selection can be quite annoying.
Giving you maps you don’t enjoy or the same map multiple times.
I have fun when I play war thunder.
I don’t have fun when I tell my therapist I’m trying to go out more and talk to females.
I don’t, because I can understand chinese, and chinese chat is just shit
I started playing since 2015. Still having fun most of the time.
- I avoid RB. For air I went to sim and never looked back. For ground I sometimes play low tier AB, but I mostly play air these days.
*I try playing as many different vehicles as possible. Playing the same lineups over and over is boring and gets stale really fast.
*I put myself a BR ceiling. 13.0 for air. Not planning to go up whileI still having planes below that threshold to spade.
*When the game gets boring I take a few months off until I get the itch to play again.

I always have fun when I get to use vehicles I like (such as the TOG and AFT-09) or when I have cool moments in matches (I had a “last stand” moment in Pradesh once with the ztz-99a).
When I start feeling like I’m not having fun with War Thunder and matches start to frustrate me more than amuse me I go play something else or chill outside top tier
I started playing in 2015 but only started to “seriously” play War Thunder around 2018 or something
Who needs females when you can have all the war thunder femboys you want

Just to relax and have fun with vehicles i think are cool, but mostly to see what kind of crazy things i can make work lol As sub optimal as it is i love playing the mig21 as fast and low cas. 8/10 times you dont get any kills, by when you do its sure is fun lol
I don’t have fun most of the time, because no matter how well you play, you often get stomped because:
- You regularly get put into uptiers that make it so your tank is no match for the opposition.
- This ridiculous matchmaker splits up the teams in such a way that you get saddled with halfwits and one death leavers so you have no hope of winning.
Also not helped by getting the crap bombed out of you by CAS because the team is either too stupid to spawn fighters, or once they spawn fighters they use them to strafe heavy tanks (facepalm), and when you finally get a chance with a bomber or attacker you can GUARANTEE the enemy spawn two or three fighters directly behind you and your bomber falls apart like a half-baked cake at the first sniff of a machine gun round.
And don’t get me started on the IDIOTIC RNG volumetric damage model. The amount of times you patently outplay an opponent and make a perfectly good shot to the weak spot of the opposition tank that does NOTHING and the tanks you get it to be one-shotted by some BS shot that hits a wheel and takes 5 physics defying bounces to kill your entire crew.
The game is programmed to frustrate players into PAYING their way to better results. How are you supposed to enjoy a game that is pretty much written to frustrate players instead providing good even enjoyable matches?
The game has ENDLESS potential to be something really enjoyable. If only the devs would listen to the community instead of ONLY thinking about making $$$$$$$$. There’s no reason they can’t do both.

As a ground player, Ayit makes the air event grind relatively painless.
The only A4 I have is the A4E is that good for grinding too? Rn Im using the AV-8B (NA), F4E just got AIM 9J, F100D, F86A-5, and F8F-1 is the A4E a good grinder I have it spaded.

I have fun, I’ve played WT since 2013. I like that the game has different modes/types of vehicles, you basically have many games in one (which is pretty awesome for a person who didn’t have Roblox in his childhood 😆) and the best thing I like in WT is that it has some rare not hype/pop tech which I’ll never find in other games.
