The hstv-l is good but the round does almost zero spalling in my experience resulting in 2-3 shots for most mbts. Even if you get a perfect shot that you know would 100% be 1 shot in an mbt the bad round requires you to put 2 more shots if your not lucky.
So you end up with a light tank that has similar or worse firepower than the IPM1 (depends on the reload they give it), worse mobility than the IPM1 and worse armor than the IPM1.
Abrams is the second or third best tank in the game, so its not exactly like the US needs a better MBT at this time. That being said. With the decompression we’ll likely see everyone get new top tier MBTs in the near future
Larger maps, that’s it. US MBTs struggle in Small maps because it heavily relies on protection rather than speed, ROF, and gun depression.
The Abrams excel in large maps because it’s mobility, ROF and gun depression can be used to its full potential. Its why Russian mbts despite having worse ROF, reverse speed and gun performance, do really well in small maps. Their protection is good.
The us also needs a better SACLOS spaa to counter ldircm helis
The players are the problem, half of them are noobs who bought their way there and have less braincells than your average reserve tank player.
If people knew how to play the vehicles they’d do a lot better but the amount of people who rush without thinking makes me so sad because they blame the vehicle instead of themselves for not playing to their tanks playstyle.
Imo id be nice to get some hull armor but it wont matter given the amount of noobs who flock to the abrams without actually learning how to play at that BR.
Idk i tried playing 12.7 yesterday and today and i watched my team skip objectives run to enemy spawn die and 1 death leave. They could’ve played smart like myself and a few Type 90’s but thats not what happened.
