Im at the point on the german tech tree where i have unlocked the VK3002, and every time i have used it. it has sucked. Im not sure how im supposed to play ot, and idk if its just cause i keep using it at the start so i end up facing infinitely better tanks like the M4 76’s and the T-34-85’s, ect. So i would really appreciate some advice with this tank please.
Speed and good gun. That’s pretty much it. Bad turret traverse, poor armor mostly, and meh reload. It got a good gun and amazing pen for the BR thought, so a glass cannon of sorts if you will.
Similar to mid-tier french strats: get to the strong firing positions first and out-shoot anyone who tries to push you off it. Flanking doesn’t work great since the gun is bouncy and you’re so big, so think of it more like a tank destroyer.

Good mobility, great weapons and some armor.
I think this is one of the best 5.0 in the game, another thing is that 5.0 is currently playing against 5.7-6.0

This tank is insanely busted at 5.0.
Frontally, you’re immune to the majority of 4.0-4.7 tanks, except for tank destroyers, unless they hit the tiny corners of your turret. Only the Russian 85mm, the Tiger’s 88mm, and the Panther’s gun can reliably penetrate the front of the VK. The American 76mm bounces if you angle. This tank is faster and can outrun most light tanks. If anything, it should be 5.3. Overall it’s much better than the KV-85 and KV-1C.
It does not maneuver well - I’ve killed these things with a basic Sherman in CQ. As pointed out above it has terrible turret rotation.
And it only has first class protection at the front - the sides are weak and it can be killed by many enemies that are well below 5.0.
Additionally, since you are uptiered 75% of the time, you will see Tiger E as (if not more) often as you will see BR 4.0 vehicles. And tanks like the Firefly or Chi-to-Late can pen the front glacis at even 500m.
