What is the significance of using drones for reconnaissance and marking enemy positions?

Yesterday, the map of Italy.

  1. I used a drone to mark the enemy’s location in the city area
  2. The first teammate fired first and hit the enemy, but the enemy retaliated. Teammate destroyed, enemy unable to move
  3. The second teammate moved behind the enemy tank based on the drone’s markings and was then destroyed by the enemy.

Why? Because the enemy listened to the engine sound and aimed at the position where their teammate was about to appear.
So, what is the significance of using drones for reconnaissance and marking enemy positions in the game? Using drones to discover enemy advantages can ultimately be balanced by engine sound.

It allows you go point out enemies for your team. It works pretty well when you have good teammates.

Sounds like your teammate didnt peak the corner and instead rushed out.

If your team miss the basic strategy there is nothing to do. Using an scout drone or even the target being scouted ( binoculars) wont help

I appreciate good scouts, pretty helpful to know someone is flanking

Honestly, if you ask me? Drones in this game were a mistake. Hot take!

In battle, would you place the direction of the artillery behind the tank? The problem is: we provide good markers, but teammates attack from any direction. Enemy: Listen, they are on the left. (Teammates moving) Listen, they’re right behind. So what are the advantages of tagging?

It provides information for the team to use. Whether or not your teammates actually use it is a different issue.

They’re basically a more effective map ping or callout in chat. It’s up to you whether you want to use them or not, but they’re an excellent tool for assisting your team mates when used properly.

Adding drones was a very stupid idea on the part of the dev’s…why do we need such broken things?

More precisely, drones are a means of reconnaissance that can bring advantages to teammates.
When this advantage can be offset by engine noise, it becomes very foolish.

If I could listen to the engine sound and locate which street intersection the enemy appeared from, then the existence of drones would be meaningless.
And, my own vehicle is closer, but it can be set to the lowest sound, while enemy vehicles are farther away, but the engine sound can be set to the highest.

In cqc, yes. You are able to point out vehicles that can be engaged from further than like 200m.

It is not supposed to be a super amazing advantage with zero counterplay.
