at least at top tier you have no way to know if the enemy can return fire after destroying its FCS, which makes no sense, either do not show a red indicator over FCS if the enemy can return fire with the commander override, or just reworked the system, as they are interlinked in many cases, with some FCS modules, if destroyed, should in theory cripple both the commanders and gunners FCS.
Im mainly asking for context, I am not saying that what I think is 100% correct
OTOH; Most tanks also have manual backup controls which should keep the tank able to fire as long as the gunner and backup sight is functional.
the point of FCS being disabled being a misleading indicator still stands, especially for newer players and those who just reached top tier.
If it actually has no effect remove the model altogether as it simply adds nothing.
Ha, no, it adds an extra thing to repair, because that is what it is needed in this game!
(Remember when in the Heavy Calvary dev server, the new Abrams had a 12 minute repair time lol)
Some tanks are allowed to use their manual controls.
some get screwed over by having FCS when they shouldnt as well.
the whole system is a mess
reminds of the commander override and the indicator thing, and how for some tanks you can get full override and sometimes rotate turret and sometimes only fire.
Like the somua, the smaller circle indicator means nothing, sometimes you cannot even fire.
They should at least make it so that you can tell what happens when a certain vehicle’s FCS is destroyed (like electronics for aircraft, helicopters and tanks)… or make it so that every vehicle’s FCS disables the same actions / operations.
TLDR; Gaijin loves artificial nerfs,
agreed. showing that theres manual override or not on a vehicle rather than what it does now by telling you sod all would be nice
more importantly they need to start removing FCS from manual only systems like scimitar 2 and adding the manual controls to the vehicles that get gimped by it
i need to get better photos of inside a centurion to show commander has got turret control so it gets that.
im going back to the tank museum next month ill have to add that to my mental list
The community asked for more detailed DMs. Gaijin, in classic Gaijin fashion, half-assed the implementation and fucked over countless vehicles.
