The F-80C is really good imo.
Looks like your already on a good path, F3H is pretty decent
First hand experience with Canberra mk2 (which is what the B-57s are) are fairly decent for base bombing, can usually get too a base just fine and quite often back to base (youd be surprised how fun they can be to dogfight in, at least the ones with guns) not rank 6 but perfectly usable for grinding most rank 6
But the F3H-2 is very strong for the BR, probably should be 9.3
F-104s can also be annoying to deal with and very strong in the right players hand
f-80c is crazy strong, one of the best dogfighters at that br
I’d use the F2H-2, a very nice plane and one of my favourite early jets
f84f easy grind with bombing base
try to research av8c, sent 9G to enemy to get free kills after booming the base

Yeah the Harriers are a good shout. 3x Napalm for an easy base kill, 2x 9Gs and flares for handling the mess that is 9.7. But does require a bit of mastery
F86F-2. No contest.
the canberra (B-57B) with guns may not be a perfect grinder but will offer a hell of a lot of fun.
I use the canberra mk6 in the british tech tree when i want to bully fighters in a bomber. I do this not by outrunning them, i do it by outturning them in a dogfight. I love watching jet fighters beeline for a free kill only to find themselves get reversed and sent back to the hanger by a bomb truck.
You can bomb a base and then bomber hunt quite easily and then torture helpless fighters quite consistently
b-57 and the B variant especially have much worse flight performance than the british canberras
2 naplams plus one 500lb(250?) to get better reward factor.
but u may be busy switch secondary weapons (naplam’s ccip is much closer than normal bomb) if u re not familiar with their switching order.
Every US jet in rank 5 is decent except the bombers and attackers.
F-80A and F-80C are both good for their respective BRs and very good dogfighters, F-84 also if you enjoy a more passive gameplay. F2H-2 is also a good all-arounder and cannons are a big plus over the .50 cals.
The sabres are also amazing, mostly because they are undertiered, and they have a very forgiving FM.
The F-9F-2 and F-9F-5 are both viable mostly because the WEP has been bugged and its currently unlimited on many planes, they turn better than the sabres but do everything else worse, the armament is also much better than 6x.50cal.
For Rank 6, the sabre F-2 is still good because of its amazing armament, but be careful with your positioning in uptiers or you’ll die a lot to IR missiles.
F-104 are very good in downtiers but in uptiers it can be a bad experience.
F8U-2 is the best Rank 6 but you need to manage your speed and control your turning above 11-12G, depending on fuel state, or the instructor will induce very quickly a snap turn into the 14G territory that will rip your wings. (skip the next F-8E btw, it’s a sidegrade with a bit worse flight model at a higher BR)
A-4E IMO. I took all three gunnpods and most of the time won in headon and got around 2 to 4 kills. I did not use any of rank 6 jets and also grinded F-5E with A-4E
F9F-8 Cougar, F-80C-10, F-86s, F3D-1, and F2H-2 are the best for grinding rank 6 jets.
And for grinding rank 7 jets:
F-100D overall is amazing.
F-8U-2 is good as well.
F3H-2 takes getting use to but is rather strong as well.
The best is to spade each plane from the begin. Just grinding has no sense.
Just get the 10.3 f8 it’s pretty overpowered
Some people who played the F3H told me it’s surprisingly good if used well, and I myself have learnt the hard way to not underestimate that thing in fights. So you’re probably on the right track
