The funny part is it’s a self fulfilling prophecy, the more people scream “Russian BIAS” the more new, inexperienced or bad players flock to Russia pushing down vehicles BRs and causing Gaijin to focus more on new stuff and more premiums for Russia as the money is where the players are.
I believe what we have is Player Bias…we tend to think that whatever we prefer to use is at a disadvantage…as it is easier than assuming we did a mistake or more…
Russian bias appears more in forum because the game developers are mostly russian…but there were topics about German and US bias on several occasions…
Smaller nations and brits have much less bias claims as they have less vehicles and less “regular” players…but happens on occasion on specific vehicles…
I learned my lesson with the Jumbo (US tank)…took me a few weeks to get and during those weeks i felt it was completely overpowered…then i got it myself and saw “other side of the coin”…
Like many good vehicles in the game, it can be very effective or die quickly to a good/lucky opponent (also depends a lot on BR)…and this i true for Russian vehicles as well.
As a personal note…Russia has some good vehicles but i fail to see the “big” bias claimed and the numbers also don’t show it…it would NOT be my favourite nation, at least up to BR8.
I see no “bias” in game…just a few good vehicles that “stand out”…from several nations…and i am pretty sure that if those were “fixed” (meaning an downwards adjustment to BR/effectivness) some other vehicle would take their place…
It’s really good to play more than one nation for perspective (like 1 NATO style and one Russia/China not USA/ Germany that play pretty much the same) Russian tanks are not bad, but they are far more restricting in their game play than the NATO counterparts, so it’s far easier to adapt to different situations with NATO tanks then Russian. At least that’s my take on it.
