It actually doesn’t, if you use MEC the thing turns into a rocket. The problem is that prop BR’s are functionally dead and your teammates are nearly useless, you always end up getting swarmed.
Teams full of worthless US bomber players really don’t help it either.

It doesn’t turn well, has terrible acceleration, engine runs hot, and poor climb performance. Sure it rolls quickly, but who cares?
Anything American. I know, I know, “boom and zoom bro” but man, I hate having a slower turn time (and larger turn radius) of a bloody bomber. Actually, that’s an insult to many bombers.
Some american planes are truly unfortunate, the P40 for example, but others take a lot of finesse to fly right. The F6F is the poster child for this in my opinion. It’s able to out turn a spitfire with speed, and its engine outputs insane power at lower speeds. The problem is that you will never squeeze good performance out of it unless you set up Manual Engine Control and use it correctly. Took me about 35 matches to figure it out, and I’m still having issues with it because it’s unforgivable, you mess up once and it’s half the enemy team on your rear.
And since the F6F is usually flown by bad pilots, it has a reputation for being a free kill so people will run you down constantly. Vicious circle.
Definitely the J22’s. Abysmal engine performance and the guns just don’t cut it.
I find it quite enjoyable to fly, with how much engine power it puts out. The guns, while weak by themselves, also work great as you get 4 of them.

Am I wrong tho. Super compressed BRs, flying anything but meta is futile, interesting fights are comically rare, AA campers nearly every match, stat padders and sweat squadrons, etc, etc.
It’s just not fun.

Imho one of the best planes at 3.3 without being stupidly op like the MB 157.
F5F-5N = yes, a rat plane as you have to rely on mistakes.
Too heavy, worse climb and speed, useless radar, 4.3 due to 2 x 20mm.
Dude - you fly the French version with great success and u get supported by hordes of MB 157s fighting on your side. I fly daily the UK version and stopped using the US version.
The US version at Rank II is a real pain (thx to teams) but also quite funny on Pacific maps as you play 90% of your matches 1 vs all - if you made it above 6-6,5 km even Ki-44 IIs can’t get you - i killed most of them in very long range head-ons or when the ran out of fuel. But - the premium Ki-100 II will catch you above 9 km.
Imho the 3.3 version performs best in full uptiers as can you avoid the hordes of 3.0 Yak-1Bs and the JP 109s - the few Pyoerremskis are a pain, yes, but can be dealt with at very high speeds.
Correct regarding MEC, i recommend considering to disable the instructor slides too as the instructor hampers the turn significantly.
U out turn any Yak in the BR range too (disabled instructor, ofc) - imho the only planes which you need to be extremely careful are the 3.0 Bf 109 E models.
Correct (again😂👍) - most of my losses were actually related to the supercharger switch between 800-1,200 meters - one mistake in the heat of the fight and game over. Same regarding WEP management, if you run out too early you are dead…
Oh I’m not saying it’s a bad plane! I’m just saying I struggle to make it work, but better players do very well in that flying barrel. And you’re right, having mb157’s on your team is a huge help, that thing is fucking stupid =D
I don’t even bother with it anymore, I can never tell what the correct settings are for every map lol, and I haven’t run out of wep in a match yet because I’m a control freak and I try to use it very sparringly. Plus no one climbs all that much and I usually prefer going fast over climbing so it doesn’t affect me all that much
Nah, because the LaGG and their players can actually perform decently well. Meanwhile American players will do anything besides play their vehicle correctly and then whine.
