yes, because i literally play that gods forsaken BR. You like with everything use your brain and prioritize the threats and then deal with them rapidly. If theres an Su30SM or something similar locking me im not gonna be like “yo you know what would be rad rn, how about i go do CAS”. You deal with things that come up accordingly. If the map is mountainous you can afford doing dogfights without many problems. On flat maps you gotta keep in mind to stay down low.
2x 9M, 2x 120s, 6x D mavs, 2x Penguins or GBU24s for F16AM
As for gripen C, 2x 9Ms, 3x G mavs, 4x SDBs.
If youre happy with that and think that holds up compared to the top dogs then im happy for you…
Yea the tornado is really not great at dealing with top tier SAMs at all. Ive managed to come up with few ways to go about it but playing this plane is not good.
Like you can see here (ignore the background sounds, i was listening to YT at the time) you can make the tornado work, but this is less about the plane and more about the people playing it. Realistically youre at 12.3 better off playing the premium FA18 hornet, or the premium Su30MK2, or anything else that isnt a tornado.
Compared to most, Sweden has been lacking in CAS.
No FnF heli is the first one, not really much more to say there.
But on fixed wing.
Gripen A has 4x AGM-65Bs. Sure, AGM-65Bs are fairly standard on the F-16s at that BR, and it does get a Tpod, but others usually have 6x AGM-65Bs and double the avaiable AAMs. Also taking 4x AGM-65B gives up all the BOL.
The Gripen C does get better with AGM-65Gs, but again only 4, at the same BR as F-16s that can run 6x AGM-65Ds whilst maintaining a 2+2 A2A fit, Gripen has to give up Fox-3s and BOL to maintain that payload. That is weaker than things like the Harrier Gr7 interms of both A2A and A2G. Only real saving grace is the GBU-39s imo.
Sure they are usable, but bottom of the bracket quite a bit. You have to choose what you want to do in them and that limits them quite a bit. Its a compromise no one else has to do.
the F-18 is a GBU truck, no AGM-65s from what I can see. Which can be fine, but not amazing, certainly not compared to any other 12.7 , or even a few 12.3s like the Su-30 premium.
the F-16AM has been Swedens first half decent top tier CAS option… ever. Its quite notable actually.
Gripen E is long overdue.
As for the ASJ37 you mentioned, its okay at the BR, but comes with a LOT of compromises.
Its fair to say that Sweden might have usable CAS, but its some of the weakest CAS options out of any nation at the moment, literally carried by the F-16AM imo.
My Strategy for the tornado GR4… is to just play the Torando GR1 at 11.7 :D I tried it when it was new, it was okay, but now… uptiering my entire lineup from 11.7 to 12.3 for a Tornado that is not that big of an upgrade over the GR1 tbh… just feels dumb. If I play 12.7, I’ll bring the Typhoon.
Just a shame GBUs dont work at the moment.
Ye it’s nice that IRIS-T isn’t as OP anymore
When the Leo 2A7 was added, there were ppl defending Germany cause Sweden got basically the same tank but better CAS.
Ig I’m not too surprised that changed with things like EF 2000 being added, and FR and IT getting Leo’s.
USA is the most powerful overall at the top end.
As OP CAS as Soviets with a far better tank lineup to go with it.
It’s been USA for like… 5 years now.
Soviets have OP CAS like USA, though its tank lineup isn’t as strong.
USA has strong lineups at 4.0, 6.0, 6.7, 7.0, 7.7, 8.3, 9, 10.3, and top end.
Of course strong tanks attract everyone regardless of skill.
So you think Su-85M, T-34-42, T-34-57, KV-1 Zis, KV-85, T-34-85, Su-100P or Obj 268 are bad? What are you, THE BEST WT player ever?
Also Soviets have by far the best CAS at many BRs and mind-blowingly superior SPAAs, 2x25mm milktruck is way better SPAA than Ostwind (and not really worse, and maybe even better than Ostwind II in the plane-killing ability, though it’s easier to kill) and BTR-152D is ridiculously good with 1 14.5mm bullet being enough to brind down a heavy fighter.
Rating brimstones over hammers is a take, i guess.
Russia by far.
Su85m, t34-85, and 268 are pretty good.
T34(1942), t34-57, kv85, and zis5 are decent.
Su100p is not that good
They got great stuff at top tier. Outside of that, they got yak9k, il2, and pe8.
US holds the low/mid ranks for the most part.
Russia, aint even close. The CAS with absurd fictional abilities such as the Yak9k and LMURs ensure they have solid win rates across the board. Most maps also favour their tanks advantages.
Japan is really good for top tier. This is supported by the fact that it is a popular nation in the current WT esports tournament.
What??? is very good TD with very good movility and fire power.
They are 3rd for average win rate which is pretty good for a popular nation. Though US is only 0.04 below it.
Fire power is very good and the speed is nice. But zero armor and slow gun traverse hold it back a lot imo.
Its certainly workable but it is far from the op racecar that he is trying to make it out to be.
Enjoy when the shell just past through.
Nobody said is OP.
If you pull a bad shot, yeah. That always sucks.
Loofah would argue like it is. Or at the very least he would argue that it is way better than 6.7 german tanks.
Russia or germany
100P is among the best of the bunch, though it requires some skill to use (I for examply am very bad with lightly armored vehicles, so my tank of choice is absolute juggernaut Su-85M ).
It’s a light tank, with super low profile (so EASILY made invisible by pay2win bushes) with v. good reverse and 100mm cannon that 1-shots most things it hits and has insane angled penetration.
Essentialy, it’s Waffentrager on adderall.
It has so little armor it doesn’t fuse APHE with large part of it and can be penetrated without deaing any damage to it. I find it extremely hard to kill, as you won’t really have time to “switch to HE”.
It’s mostly resistant to .50 cal frontally.
It turns so damn fast it’ll get on target faster than most tanks it encounters, even though gun traverse is fairly slow.
The only thing Su-100P lacks is gun depression, so yeah, there’s that.
Basically this is PakPuma, but with a way bigger gun and probably lower profile.
And PakPuma is damn excellent.
