What is considered a legit K/D?

Just played a match with two players that the enemy team accused of cheating, saying they were using walls and aimbot. When asked if they had any proof, their K/D was brought up, with one player having a 94% win rate in 518/549 battles with 307 deaths and 2736 ground kills for their top vehicle (STRV 122B PLSS) and having a few other top-tier tanks with similar stats. Spectating them doesn’t show much, and the replay shows them to be very laggy. I am assuming it is just a case of major skill issue, but I just wanted to ask around. The two accused of cheating ended the match 12-0 in an M1A1 Abrams and 6-1 in a Type 90 Fuji/F-5E FCU.

Catching cheaters by their K/D is about as accurate as the pencil test during Apartheid. Players could have ridiculously high K/D because they are ridiculously good and using an OP vehicle, and conversely cheaters could have abysmal K/D because they’re just that bad (which ironically might’ve been what prompted them to use cheats in the first place).

Like I said, I didn’t see anything sus, but the replay wasn’t working well, so I couldn’t be 100%. I am assuming it is just someone butthurt that they got killed multiple times by the same person.

that k/d is pretty damn crazy but definitely possible. can you share the replay so we can also tell if they’re cheaters or just super good?

You can use stat shark to see what the top players have. If you remove vehicles they abuse youll see an average of between 2-3 kdr, when abusing a certain vehicles they have hundreds or thousands of games in its around 8-10 kdr. These are usually old undertiered event vehicles like the bi or vt2 etc.

So if you are consistently pulling off 2.0 kd games you are basically better than 99.9% of players. It sounds kinda sad, but the game isnt really competitive, there is no sbmm, and the game is extremely new player unfriendly combined with giving anyone willing to spend $ access to any tier of vehicle, so it actually not that suprising.

Someone that cheats is usually going to only play premiums, probably to pump the account and sell it if they dont get banned.

94% winrate in 500 battles that one lucky guy but we are talking about the Strv 122B PLSS, it’s one step behind the Strv 122B+ which still one of the bests vehicles in game.

Regarding Kill/Death ratio for detecting cheaters was never effective because it can also means the player is very good in a specific vehicle. This can be alarming when you notice the same stats in more vehicles.

It’s a complex onion layer method to detect cheaters, K/D ratio is the top one. Replay watch is the most time consuming but the most effective method to do so.

There were a few vehicles that had high K/D, but they were mostly Leopard variants or Abrams, so it is at least consistent.

bloody hell that’s quite the analogy but I understand the sentiment

level doesnt say anything as it may just be a smurf/ lost old account.

K/D can be they are cracked with one vehicle/its OP as hell (think Yak9K)

If a player has extremely bad stats on everything but a couple things that does raise several red flags, especially when its a Chinese or random letter/symbol username

that is doable but unbelievably unlikely

I’ve gone 15-0 in a tetrach at 2.7 and 14-1 in a tortoise using a very good MBT like an M1A1 or OP MBT like a fuji makes it easier to do.

If you see the same names again doing it a few times then its alarm bells

Like I said, I didn’t think they were cheating. But I also don’t play super seriously, so I don’t know what a great player’s K/D would be. There have also been games where I go 10-0, 15-0, or even 17-0 one time, but it is not a super consistent thing, which makes me a little sus that they are getting that almost every game they play with multiple vehicles.

can you send a link to the server replay instead? i have no idea how to even open this :(

how do I do that?

a good players average k/d is anything above 1. a really good player id say is above 1.3.

yeah, the main one accused had kd of 7-10 on like 8 vehicles

click the messages tab on the bottom right, find the game and click on “view server replay”

Spoiler

It should open a webpage (in my case, it opens with steam) with the replay tab open, copy the link in the search bar

Hopefully this works

looking at the replay, it seems they are just very good players with alot of experience and good teamwork.
im sure they often play squadded up.

kh-38 alone has 64 days of gameplay in tanks only. it would be bizarre if he wasnt good after such a long time.

And even tho goatedwitdasauce only has half of it, he seems to have a good setup with how easily he can see stuff

There was a time at 11:44 where he was looking into the enemy spawn direction and either he or his squadmate in the air accurately squad marked a gepard that from the ground view would of been tough to see even with thermals as they were partially hull down and there were trees is the direct line.

It’s hard to say as the replay wouldn’t allow me to see their actual view as it was greyed out.

Watch them with a server replay, not the in-game replay. The server replay shows you their exact mouse movements and camera movements, in-game is useless.

2736 - 307 if it was RB is quite good grounds to watch it in any case.

Post the screenshot of the match so we can look it up ourselves or pm, we are bored.

9KD is in the area where it’s perfectly fine to question it, especially with such a large sample size (not 5 battles)

Low tiers is infinitely easier to get kd than high tier.

At high tier, everyone has LRF and Stab, meaning the skill ceiling is a lot lower, it’s just a lot easier to die. Someone abusing kv1b or playing even F2 can get 5-6-7-8 reliably, at high tier you will be bombed, rocketed and 2v1 rushed with STAB.
