What happened to the S.U.M.M.E.R. events?

As a newer player that started playing after Gaijin stopped doing these events, I want to know why these events no longer happen and if we will see another event like this again.

I know about the W.I.N.T.E.R. events but they still do those as far as I know as the Christmas/ New Years events

Was scraped in favor of the returning single vehicle Events.

Would you say the returning events are better or worse than the S.U.M.M.E.R. events?

For me, it’s better, you can get all vehicles If you want know, in Summer Event nearly impossible

They sucked because it was incredibly difficult to get everything because you had multiple things to grind at once.

Now its one at a time.

Just wish they lowered the Score requirements a bit

The current system is much better. Before, concentrating everything in one major event meant two things: an influx of veteran players who returned to the game specifically for the new vehicles, and an incentive to play at low BR because the grind for the vehicles was terribly steep and it was almost impossible to get everything you wanted.

If you combine the two things you get a terrible environment in which veteran players dropped in BR and used very rare/busted event vehicles to club newer players in order to get the event done faster. This phenomenon was so marked that it even had a name, “Event Thunder”.

With the current system, you get access to all the vehicles you want, and the distribution of grinding players is far more even.

I do like this new system as soon as i get in from work i dont have to worry about grind three tasks out just only one which has been nice thank you Gaijin

The short version is that the old Operation S.U.M.M.E.R. format has not simply been renamed. It was a multi-stage, multi-task event; the 2026 Community Update described a different event cycle: a monthly vehicle event, a pause, Tank Football in July and a naval event in August.

That explains why the old S.U.M.M.E.R. branding and multi-reward grind have not returned. Whether the new format is better is subjective, but the trade-off is fairly clear:

  • the old format offered more simultaneous objectives and a larger reward pool, but created heavier time pressure;
  • single-vehicle events make progress clearer, but offer fewer choices and can feel repetitive.

Personally, I’d like a hybrid: one main vehicle, optional secondary tasks for decals or boosters, published time estimates and a catch-up mechanic. That would keep the accessibility of the new system without losing the variety people liked in S.U.M.M.E.R.

You forgot the main downside being that you could only get 2 out of the 4 vehicles without using the market.
