What happend to the APHE rework?

So what is the plan for now. We had more players voting “NO” on the APHE rework test but is gajin still doing it or not because the 2% more players voted “NO” shouldn’t be that big of an issue. Does anybody have informations?

Nothing yet. I really hope it acts as a lesson for Gaijin to not ask the entire playerbase their opinions on a hypothetical. Instead run a dev server and have a poll for only the people that tried the dev server out.
Filters out youtube kids that were used to brigade the vote while also letting players actually see what the change is like

And to not introduce a vote right away, while also not allowing players to change their vote.

A vote for that is good, but there was no discussion time before it opened.

the lack of discussions and a simplified explanation for the casuals probably ruined the vote more than anything else

I noticed that the whole post was very wordy, and not that well organized, too, which made it hard to understand if you just skimmed through everything. I assume that many people just looked at the photos, didn’t like it, and voted no.

Personally, I’m neutral on it. I would rather see solid shot buffed, rather than an APHE nerf. I also don’t think that Gaijin will be able to balance out the BRs quickly/nicely if the changes were to be implemented.

This is a recurring problem with gaijin.

Remember the weapon selector release? And how it was buried under a pile of very specific “this doesn’t concern me” patch notes after like 4 1080pi 21 inch monitor pages? And how it led to people dying/crashing because they decided to put the bind onto throttle/pitch up? The relevant part of the weapon selector release itself was buried under a bunch of unrelated fluff.

I’ve no idea how communication fails this badly. Random amateur space station 13 projects have better patch notes, and it’s done by some random post-doc while her daughter finally fell asleep.

Im for more accurate damage in the game, APHE behaving as it did, shells refracting as they penetrate armour. I think it would add a cool bit of realistic complexity to GRB.

I don’t think it should really mess with BR balance as I don’t see it as a nerf, the penetrator will be staying in one piece from the next update either way so APHE will be more damaging as a whole, even if you don’t instantly delete a whole crew you’re probably going to knock most out and hit the engine and set them on fire so that’s just as brutally good. the only massive change will be cupola shots won’t be a free instant kill anymore, Skill will matter for APHE users.

I agree solid shot needs a buff and “shell shattered” needs to go live on a farm too. British main is pain

Because what could possibly go wrong by making the maths the server hamsters have to do even more complicated…

refraction is not a difficult calculation neither is changing a circle of damage into two cones

If I remember correctly, the Reddit thread was also full of people whining about how it would completely ruin the game and their family would die if the change was implemented.

It’s pretty close split so I’m hoping they still give it a go. We’ve been asking for this for about 10 years now. About time it got done.
