What do yall think about this vehicle sharing system?

As someone who has a 10-vehicle line-up, I hadn’t been able to spend more than 5 vehicles for my average matches, what IF the game allowed someone like me to offer the extra vehicles I have to team members?

Benefits:

  • Reduces one-death quitting: Players can continue participating even after losing their own vehicles.

  • Cross-nation vehicle access: Players can use vehicles from allied teammates, regardless of nation. For example, a U.S. player could deploy a Pantsir or T-80 if offered by a teammate.

  • Extends match participation: Players who run out of vehicles but still have spawn points can stay in the game.

  • Try out new vehicles: Players can experience vehicles they don’t own, including premium ones (premium account required).

  • Mitigates uptier imbalances: Teams can counter an uptier by utilizing high-BR vehicles shared by teammates.

How It Works:

  • Loadout selection: Players can designate vehicles in their lineup as shareable. These choices can be adjusted at any time during the match.

  • Spawn point requirements: Borrowing a vehicle still requires the appropriate amount of spawn points.

  • Ownership trade-off: Once a vehicle is made available to teammates, the owner cannot use it themselves unless they have a backup.

  • Repair costs: Borrowers must cover any repair fees using their own in-game currency.

  • Player records: Kills, deaths, wins, and losses are recorded under the borrower’s stats.

  • Vehicle state retention: Borrowed vehicles retain the modifications, skins, and decorations of the original owner.

This system would encourage teamwork, strategic flexibility, and an overall more engaging gameplay experience.

I honestly like that, especially since some BR have single vehicle or like 2 vehicle lineups that could allow poeple who still can respawn to do so and continue the fight as you said!

+1!

Double edge sword.
Would be nice, but in otherhand does this bring more low tier players who has researched example only rank 2 vehicles and hoping to get “free” vehicles on top tier…

It wouldn’t be like they can keep it forever, it’s just showing them what they could get and letting them try it out in a game. It’s kind of like a test drive but you get it for multiple vehicles ( if you’re lucky)

This isn’t a good idea for multiple reasons. Firstly, the idea of allowing players to use tanks they have never researched or bought is fundamentally incompatible with the design of War Thunder, and would make the game worse as a result. Allowing what is basically every vehicle possible to a player, to be played for an unlimited time in one match, would be massively detrimental to player achievement and retention.

The most similar mechanics in game, such as Ground AB Heli/plane spawning, or Naval Arcade planes, are not comparable. They either give the player no choice of specific plane and a very limited time (Ground AB) or are restricted to low tier aircraft only (Naval Arcade). And both are restricted to CAS only. There is no mode in which ground vehicles not unlocked by the player are able to be played.

Also, the SP costs of vehicles increases massively if vehicles were previously spawned by the player. 2 players with 5 vehicles will be able to spawn much more vehicles in total than one player with 10 vehicles, given the same total SP earned. This balances, to a slight but noticeable degree, the effectiveness of having many crew slots. If you allowed players to use others’ vehicles using their own spawn point parameters, that would make crew slots even more P2W. This change would make CAS more powerful and common, disadvantage teams with non-paying members, and boost the effectiveness of squads to an unacceptable degree.

So like a back up button, you are able to have a button to send unused vehicles within a line up into a pool so another player can use them even though they are locked in their own tech tree. This could work though I don’t know how the dev would respond since they clearly yet to see the sub nation rework. But this is a cool idea.

If leased vehicle has unresearched mods, will it get research points that way? Let’s someone else spade that AH-1G for me :D

yeah i get it, that it is just a lease for one game.
But imagine when we allready have lot of low lvl people with 1 premium on top tier after sales.
Now, imagine that 3 guys in one squad being lvl 10 or something like that having only max rank 2 or 3 vehicles researched in those are coming on top tier with one frien hoping to get “rentals” for free.

It could work but first there should be limiter that if you got over 1 br cap beetween leader you are not allowed to enter the game. So no more 1 top tier player having 1 -3 players with him max 4.7 br shermans in toptier.

That will be against the Gaijin’s economic model lol hence I suggest:

  • Vehicle state retention: Borrowed vehicles retain the modifications, skins, and decorations of the original owner.

Hell no.

I am not letting anybody playing my vehicles.

That could be solved by applying the similar spawn point requirement for borrowed vehicles, as long as they still have enough of them, they can respawn. Note that our average matches consists of half the team leaving with 2-3 deaths and no kill, so 50% of the players in the match will not be able of take advantage/benefit from Vehicle Sharing system. Then at one point game will still end, either by ticket loss or someone dropping a nuke, it just extends the fighting chance for someone who do well in the game but doesn’t have enough vehicles but still have spawn points and wanted to stay in the fight.

Also regarding the more strategic part it introduces, your mbt are in the objective point, getting targeted by drones or CAS, your teammate who just die and doesn’t have an effective SPAA against such threats, instead of you dying without a fighting chance, you put your TOR M1 up and someone who just contemplating on spawning and saw the SPAA is up, use it then deal with the treats and you also do not have to lose your position. How cool is that

I would, sharing is caring bro. If you play 9.0 you will get to use my Object 279, and I will always put M247 or Pantsir up because I don’t even want to use them.

This will never work with Gaijin as it bypasses the grind that was intentionally implemented like that.

Reminds me of Tom Sawyer offering his fence for painting to other kids.
“Spading this tank is cool, you want some”?

This would be great if allowed between squad members, this would promote a better social interaction in War Thunder, not restricting squad matches with a friend you know personally, but someone you met in War Thunder.

Doing something with the expectation of a positive outcome or return is a common human behavior lol
