What causes “Silent” tanks and why are they only ever temporarily fixed?

As the title states, why in battles, ground, etc,

Are vehicles like tanks that are actively driving, dead silent?

This “bug” accounts for roughly 1/6 of my deaths.

And it’s been constant, and only is fixed for a short period of time until it comes back.

game have field of view type of model player.

if you dont see it, it doesnt generate in your gameplay. same with view of gunner with skill points.

its stupid and is pure gaijin

it’s similar to WOT.
I believe this is attached to the “Keen Vision” skill, which is pretty stupid.
[Poll] “Keen Vision” perk is game breaking

That’s incredibly stupid.

“Realistic” isn’t very realistic then. What the hell.

A dumb mechanic for sure. Should be able to hear from all directions very clear.

culling is not stupid and is extremely common in almost every video game, just its a somewhat unreliable implementation

Tanks used to be loud, enough to hear them. I did see players crying about Abrams being loud etc… so they probably lowered everything. I remember being able to hear tanks nearby, now barley. So yea, its a very unreliable implementation. I wear a headset, thats how bad the low sound of tanks is.

after nearly 2 year in the game. the abrams has lost their engines sound in recent update.

it is crazy to me that a ww2 tank can be x2 as loud as 60ton mbt.

now i have installed a sound mod, i can hear everything. its their fault and i will not use theirs sounds to limite the player skills. also i am a speaker player, not a head set. tried once, twice as loud. in the same volume

They made all the Russian light tanks egregiously loud when they made those changes.

T-90M is the loudest tank in the game now btw

even with a level 150 aced crew tanks can still appear silent

I mean considering gaijin has a bad habit of doing sound overhauls like every other update its not surprising that stuff falls through the cracks

every time a T90M drives by me, even with a soundmod, i go deaf

That or a 2S38, or a bmd-4?

I literally have to turn my headset down.

I feel like my ears are bleeding

i forcefully forgot the bmd4 because i literally got a tinnitus from it
