su-35 is not the last flanker, the airframe is still good, f-15ex is probably the last american eagle though its already really expensive.

the key thing with meteor is that it can throttle, that already opens the door to ALOT of extra capabilities.

because its the f-22 is the primary air superiority fighter for the us. if the us were to go to war with russia tomorrow the f-22 would be the main tool to take out the fighters. i didnt say that it WAS the answer, im well aware su-35s wasnt a thing before the raptor

Do you not see a pattern with what I wrote in that the missiles iterations came roughly one year apart but then expect the AIM-120D-3 to break that pattern?
Why bother? Meteor is much better and Europe doesn’t use AIM-120Ds (even though they’re technically capable) on Eurofighter
IMO C-5 (except for Germany, they use C-8) should be the last AMRAAM on Eurofighters
