What can save American top tier air?

All Seekers are the same, except for Mica

Notice how even in your own assessment the aim-120d-3 is the same gen as aim-120a and it’s still not added after two years and yet we somehow will have aim-260/aim-174b/meteor/r-77m/pl-15/r-37m as well as next gen IR missiles for everyone all by 2030?

And we just need the test firings for it to be eligible to be added, which comes a year or two before its introduction into service.

im well aware what the timeline is, its a matter of fact they are very new programs, if in 4 years they are a thing sure, but aim260 is going to be ingame before 4 years pass, and discussing matters outside the game, 5 years seems pretty generous for comet entering service, the meteor took 13 years to enter service

AMRAAM C-5 when fired from Eurofighter at Mach 1.7 against an uncooperative target (so notching, diving, etc) is usually around Mach 2.

Meteor will easily still be in high Mach 3+ and constantly modulating its thrust in response to what the target does. In war thunder gaijin could simply model this as:

”If target closure rate decreases, throttle down x%”

Which would still maintain the speed and throttle back up once close. This is a very simplified, WIP implementation of it, it could be refined later obviously as this isn’t how it actually modulates thrust

TLDR VERY GOOD

ingame yeah, there is nuance insofar as electronics and seekers + the aim120d3 is still extra classified and we know jack about its perfomance.
and yeah there is no way gaijin is taking 4 years to add next gen bvraams, i think we’re 2 years at most from seeing pl-15 and the other dual pulse bros ingame, wether meteor or mica ng comes depends how much is gaijin committed to doing the TDR justice.

Lol

temper expectations, gaijin will gaijin and before you know you have the aim54c and aster 30 being as they are.

I don’t think it would be two years. Most likely this year or first half of next year

How about maneuverability?

Less than an AMRAAM in BVR, closer to AMRAAM close to intercept (when it’s at high speed, not ~10 km after launch)

It’s obviously not a close range missile tho, even if the initial booster sort of gets it up to speed. It would be like using an AIM-54 up close

The Active Eagle.

Yes! There’s also the F-15E RMP (just F-15E with AESA, really)

it took 2 years to go from f14a to f15c msip 2 and roughly another two years for the f15ge to be added, and whilst the jump from aim120a to aim120d was barely a thing, the meta has shifted pretty hard because of how much avionics improved acrossed the board, and exactly becasue the weaponry has so similar for so long i wager gaijin will had next gen of fox 2s this year. after that i dont think we’re going to be in fox 2 meta for another 3 years.

But I still think the Active Eagle would be a cooler and funner addition to the game.

f15ex not coming with su30sm2 was such nonsense, theyre so damn similar.

no weapons ;-; and differently for yak141 there was straight up no space for weapon electronics

Su-35 clears

If you think about it, it’ll be poetic: the first F-15 and Su-27 debuted together

Now the “last” Su-27 and F-15 will
