Pantsir 2 casually carrying around 95Ya6M that can hit M4+ at that alt, maintaining 70G of pull and is small enough to be carried in multiple packs by a single AIO SAM system
youre wrong, there is no difference in the chaff resistance of aim120d to AAM-4 all top tier seekers with the exception of the mica-em are identical.
only really relevant if youre shooting missiles without any datalink at longer ranges, which you shouldnt be doing at top tier.
there is exactly 0 chance either of those missiles get ingame with the aim-260, both the missiles youre talking about have started being development in extremely recent times, the comet not even a year ago.
Does anyone know top speed and range for PL-15. If AIM-260 is supposed to be a direct equivalent to PL-15E, we would get to know some sort of info about AIM-260 range and speed before it is officially revealed
exceeding 145km for the PL-15E (the export version) i dont think speed was ever
stated
Ohk, Thanks for the info.
Anyways, I believe it is too early to say anything about AIM-260 besides the fact that it does not have Ramjet
you seem to know alot about the aim260, weird considering its a special access program of which exist 0 information about, we literally just know its shape and size lol.
also the aim174b is significantly larger than the r37m, that is pretty important considering the platform its launched from. i wouldnt talk so much about missiles which perfomance is still fairly nebuluous, the aim174b has not seen any publicized usage in combat yet and is overall a newer adaption, afaik the mk72 booster does not burn for that long nor does it make such a large difference in speed, stage separation can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnUhdi09miE, until we actually know burn characteristics for the aim174b its not as simple as dual pulse better than single pulse dual thrust, these arent identical missiles, the r37m is faster and smaller, aim174b is slower and larger, and they have very similar warhead weight allegedly.
hypersonic isnt some crazy thing lol, there are already multiple missiles that can go hypersonic ingame, the thing with the r37m is that likely can reach hypersonic speeds consistently even at low altitude.
this seems weird, i dont see amraams going that fast in ingame scenarios, the can go mach 5 but the circumstances dont really happen ingame.
it was launched at mach 2.5 16km that will make almost every top tier missile exceed mach 5
Maybe, but it flies at such a speed, maximum 5 km.
And we are talking about launches at a distance of 100 km with support for a constant speed of 4M.
The bullet from the rifle also flies out quickly
mach 2.5 at 16km will make it exceed mach 5 significantly lol, i wish i had those matches
edit: tried it in statshark,

just for fun:

mach 6 at 40 kilometers travelled is crazy
I believe you’re not taking rate of introduction into account properly here. We’re still in the first generation of fox-3 proliferation since June of 2024 which was two years ago. Smin just a few days ago confirmed that next major update will not see any introduction of a new generation of air to air missiles.
This means that even after two years we’re still not seeing a new generation of missiles. At 2+ years between generation of missiles, it could mean we don’t see AIM-260 until ~2032 which by then the missiles should be in service.
Exactly why r37m is going to be utterly insane lol
watch its carriers get uptiered into oblivion just like IRIAF
The next generation will have fox 2s imo, after that we’ll see thing like meteor, but meteor mlu and comet are years away irl, let alone ingame. Aim260 should ideally come with its peers, wether its meteor and pl15(more likely) or the next generation of missiles(less likely we need to see how the current aim260a performs i hope we get some info soon).
Aim120d3 is likely not considered next gen by gaijin and will come before the others(hopefully at least) with f15ex(better late than never).
Both due in service by 2030
Take a look at how long it’s been since aim-9m and r-73 proliferated top tier and how we still don’t have next gen Fox-2s. R-73 and aim-9m in top tier came before Fox-3s so longer than 2 years, is it longer than 3 years?
I consider the aim-260/r-77m/pl-15/mica ng as a separate gen than r-37m/meteor/aim-174b, so add 2-3 years between each, and add another 2 years after next gen fox-2s
