well china ceased production of the PL-15 afaik so we should see it soonish (there is also a patent for its fin release mechanism and some engineers have it on their “worked on”

Saying the 260 is easily comparable with Meteor is what’s “saying whatever you feel like”. By the same criteria you’re using, the AIM-120D-3 is easily comparable with Meteor despite vastly different designs and purposes. The AIM-260 is more comparable to the R-77M and MICA NG EM given that they place more emphasis on medium ranges and featuring AESA seekers, and not at all like the Meteor which emphasizes other aspects.

aim-260 is also not gonna be even close to meteor in terms of effective range (NEZ)
only in ballistic range probably
really the only comparable missile to meteor that americans have is the 174 but that’s strapped to a garbage platform

Do non US mains not do the same thing we US mains want the F22 in game? All I hear is how its not fair and won’t be balanced unless its added with other 5th gens. I’ve even seen certain UK mains try to claim the F22 was going to be purchased by the UK and should be in that tree too.
Aim-260 may have roughly equal NEZ, but tbh, the missile that should be added alongside the Aim-260 isnt the Meteor. It would be the Meteor MLU or Comet
The difference between Meteor and Aim-260 at ranges of 100-150km would be that the Meteor would probably have the much faster time to target. As the meteor will be cruising at Mach 3.5-4 the entire time, whilst the Aim-260 would be initially faster, then coast till it got closer (probably much slower than the meteor) and then fire second stage, when close to the target

i mean I would assume american mains would be using f-22 anyways, that way they can get an actual servicable loadout of missiles. although because the f-22 radar is only ±60 degrees I don’t got much hope for them

But us main problem is they think everything is weak and only us sources are good.
Ah yes, the f22. I can smell thousands miles away us main asking for the stealthy wing bomb bay to get like 22 missile fox 3 like they are doing right now with the f15.
F22 is a great plane but sadly the avionics are still lacking compare to other 5th gen.
I cant wait for the “I got killed by a radar guided missile, this is meant to be impossible, please fix it” posts from every single US main
