So for the entire match you would just focus on a single F-22? If if you remove its stealth which is its big advantage it would still be a good 4.5 gen with all upgrades it has. It still won’t be bad. It would only be missing gimble radar
If they are planning on adding 5th gen, then they must surely be planning on adding it
I guess this is one advantage the Rafale has over the EFT. If the F-22 pings the Rafale’s RWR, the RWR can slew the TV sensor to the F-22 with its laser, and then from there the Rafale can actively track the F-22 even if the F-22 shut off its radar, and then the Rafale can fire missiles through the TV/Laser.
For the EFT, it can get the location of the F-22 through the RWR, but once the radar is shut off, it’s basically unable to actively guide any missiles.
Which is kinda my point regarding why the need for them to be invisible as well is really dumb and no not necessarily, but if I’m up high and hunting, and I get pinged by an F22 it’s gunna be a threat I go looking for and most of the none gen 5s will probably die first. So eventually the match will become hunting down the gen 5s hiding like cowards somewhere at the maps edge
I don’t see why. Weve never gotten something like buddy lasing for example
What can other 5th gens even do beside F-22 and SU-57 which would have good FM. Other 5th gen like F-35 whose main purpose is not even for areial superiority
Other 5th gen sure are hyped. But F-22 and SU-57 will still be one of the best in game even if you remove stealth with SU-57 being on top due to r-37 and gimbled radar which F-22 would be missing. Though Eurofighter and rafale would still challenge them to steel those title.
i know this is old but fat amy isnt all that fat, pilots often say its a mix between a f16 and a f18. A’s handle more like a f16, C’s handle more like a hornet
AIM120C performs much better than R77-1 in long range + maneuvering target. In my F15GE vs SU30SM2, the first R771 just lose most its speed when I keep 70 deg guiding my AIM120Cs. The tip is to shoot from different directions and squeeze your high maneuvering opponents all of it energy, once its out of energy and in a disadvantageous position, even a Rafale cant do much. Because F15C is decently fast and has 12 120C and AESA, its the best platform to execute such stratege. Still, I would like a more maneuverable 120C to make it better tho.
in my experience aim 120c5 and r-77-1 have essentially the same range, and r-77-1 is also faster which is nice. i can get 60km kills with either, with r-77-1 carriers you can climb to around 12km altitude, shoot a few missiles and sometimes get kills
it doesnt, the raptor can use its RWR as a guidance method for aim120’s. and the f22’s radar can be on and locking you without you knowing due to LPI technology.
anyways my proposal is buff all aim120’s lower drag coef until it can hit a non maneuvering target according to the report. then lower the fin aoa drag until it can hit the maneuvering target according to the report. give C-5 a higher loft profile. and depending how well this does lower the C-5’s seeker width again according to the report. this all should help the aim120 with turning and bvr performance. not OP by any means but a good all around missile which it just doesnt compete at all WVR
